This seems undeniable, to me.

But there is a less concrete reason why Operation Rising Lion might ultimately prove futile. Surely Iran’s hardliners will now become more, not less, determined to acquire a nuclear weapon. They will have learned what might be called the North Korea lesson. After the Iraq war, Libya opted to abandon its nuclear programme. Not many years later, the Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, was dead in a ditch. Ukraine too gave up its nuclear bombs, only to be invaded by its neighbour. Meanwhile, the dictator dynasty in Pyongyang made the opposite move: they held on to their nukes, and no one has ever laid a finger on them.

The issue of North Korea is being near to Russia and since Russia is near to Iran... what happens if Israel realizes how dangerous are them?

Looks like multiple ballistic missile hits on central Tel Aviv. This is the real thing. Israel said they would retaliate against Iranian energy infrastructure.

I think we'll be waiting until at least nightfall though. I doubt Israel feels confident enough (yet) to conduct daytime raids.

Any indication Iran was actually aiming at anything? Or were the targets just 'yes'?

In theory, they could claim that they were aiming for HaKirya, in practice they hit residential buildings.

It's almost 11PM in Tehran.

Israeli officials: "we had a clear US green light"

"In the hours after the attack began, Israeli officials briefed reporters that this was all coordinated with Washington"

So Trump IS a warmonger after all. Guess the no more foreign wars was a lie. Shocked I tell ya! Trump: President of Peace! lol

Marco Rubio lied, or he's absolutely clueless as to what we're doing in other countries. "We had nothing to do with it but are waiting to see results to determine if our president will claim credit. Please stand by."

The perfect phone call:

Hey Ben, It's your Boy Trump here. Hey I'm getting my ass kicked over here in the United States bigly. Can you do something to take some HEAT off of me?

Sure Donnie, I can bomb the shit out of Iran. Does that work for you?

Hey thanks, we have got to get together sometime at Mar-a-Lago. Bye gotta go now, Hannity is on.

So the explicit Israeli goal here is regime change in Iran. Which uh fine I guess since I don't have any love for the ayatollah. The idea that a democratic Iran would be less hostile to Israel and not seek the bomb also feels...underbaked to say the least. If they got their wish they could end up producing a more competent government and military that still hates their guts that does less adventurism (Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc) but has nuclear weapons.

Pandemics, Russian invasions, Israeli invasions, the US invading parts of itself, and now probably war between a nuclear-armed Israel and (a possibly nuclear armed) Iran. This is starting to feel like a Billy Joel "list song" but with all the events crammed into a couple of years.
We didn't start the fire, but there are certain shitheads who have had no problem throwing on more logs.

Look how well that's working out in other countries that were regime changed.

The goal isn't regime change.
The goal has nothing to do with nuclear technology or any of the stated objectives.
The goal is the land grab and dismantling of the networks who are have used the Palestinian cause as an excuse.

The hardliners want to annex the strip and the westbank. They want Hezbollah shut down for security.
Iran's is a country that is independent of Israel and US control and is source of funding and weapons. It also has an educated society.

Israel's goal is to destabilize and devolve Iran into a 3rd world country and then work with Allies to prop up a puppet government. US want control of Iran's resources and kill its local industries. Israel wants the elimination of anything approaching a peer state that could influence neighoring regions.

Iran could could halt funding arms supply to Hezbollah tomorrow.
The US and Israel would still stick to the game plan. They want instability to continue.

Iran, if they weren't run by idiots needs to deal with IRG and the hardliners holding that country back.
Severe arms and funding to various destabilizing groups. Engage with China and the EU. Joint partnerships with China are going to be the way to go.
Finally give Israel an official "we dont give a crap about you" letter.
They will need to keep the US at arms length as should everyone else.
They would need to deal with hardliners.

It would be hilarious watching Iran turn normal and to watch Israel splinter into cool Israel and crazy orthodox Israel but fortunately those lazy cowards are too busy murdering Arabs in the west bank to notice that the rest of the country hates them.

As cold hearted as it is to say, status quo wasn't working and it not like the US or Israel is a good path so might as well just get this shit over with now.

Too bad Israel is shooting itself in the foot with some of their actions here and the groups they are arming are going to turn on them. Their actions are inspiring newer factions who will be targeting Israelis (and americans) and .

Whatever....

Surprised Iran did not position anti air units in friendly areas of Iraq.
Wonder if Iraq is friendly enough.....

Speaking of which, suppose there's no chance of ground forces crossing both Iraq and Syria to reach Israel?
