So tempting... but I still have a ton to do in Tears of the Kingdom. Doubt I finish it in time for the June 22nd release so will probably be getting FFXVI next month.FF16's demo is going to be released in a few hours... I think I will pass for now cuz Demons Souls is going to take me awhile but I am interested in seeing what people say about it.
Well crap, this went from a Day 1 buy to a Wait For PC Port after seeing how terrible the performance mode is. Performance modes really need to run 60 fps since Playstation locked VRR behind expensive HDMI 2.1 VRR TV/monitors but this can't even manage to stay in the 48 fps VRR window. Supremely disappointing because I was so sold on this game from the trailers.FF16's demo is going to be released in a few hours... Is it a requirement to finish final fantasy 15 to play this one? I started it, got to the main town and got sidetracked with side missions so I never finished 15.

I'll just wait for it on PC so I can play it with FreeSync. You may as well try it out for yourself. Square did say that there is Save progression. See if it's better if you force 1080p.
If I remember that is the one that is like in the caves in the 2nd level? I remember it was kind of a pain to get down there but I figured out a way to drop down that hole pretty quickly. And I'd just run by all the enemies before getting there too.So I might be a tad stuck in Demons Souls. Can't beat Flamelurker and it's annoying that you have to drop down a chasm to get to it. I might be able to do it if I go back to Body form, but without PS+ I'm not sure I want to risk going to Black Tendency.

PS5 has definitely spoiled me on loading times after going back and seeing what they used to be like while playing through Tears on Switch.Yes. I did manage to beat it by using magic spells rather than melee.
Gotta say I do appreciate the fast loading times.
So performance mode in FF16 renders in dynamic resolution from 720p to 1080p and still runs in the 40s.

Don't really see such low resolution as screaming cpu bottleneck. If it was a cpu bottleneck there would be no point in running such low resolution when the work the cpu does is resolution independent.- Sounds like those Zen 2 CPU cores are basically at their limit. After those old Jaguar cores I didn't think Zen 2 could ever limit console performance during it's effective lifespan and yet here we are...

First attempt at PS5 Pro rumors - 30 WGP/60 CU and 18 Gbps memory. That's less than I was expecting but perhaps it will also be cheaper.
Sony gotta sell its 8K TVs...LMAO @ 8k gaming.
This industry loves it's buzzwords.
Not buying one until Pornhub goes 8kSony gotta sell its 8K TVs...
Looks like ~1.5x the performance of the base PS5... 60 CUs vs. 36 CUs is 1.67x and they'll likely need a wider memory interface to feed the beast (18 Gbps is only 1.29x over 14 Gbps). It'll be enough to do 1440p at 120 Hz comfortably I think. A true 4k60 console.PlayStation 5 Pro ‘Project Trinity’ Details And Release Date
