That looks interesting, Was hoping to find something like that when I checked locally but all they had was hose clamps.

Could chance the Amazon chinesium ones and see how they do though.

10TB?! Damn. Seems like yesterday 1gig was a big damn deal.

New Razer Blade 16", with dual LED 240hz and 120hz, 4070. Impossible to find this with the 4080 or 4090 right now but this will work. Debated the dual screen, but wanted it for gaming and then school work when traveling. 48 and going back for MBA. Halfway there! The screen is absolutely amazing.

Where's the numpad?

A few upgrades. Was thinking of waiting till after Zen5 came out, but I need a new GPU later on this year and would like a good WQHD monitor, so a CPU upgrade will tide me over for a while. Also retiring my Corsair 800D case after 14 years of service and NH-D14 after 12 years! AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU. Noctua NH-D15 w/black HS covers. Corsair 5000D Airflow. Almost went with the Fractal Torrent, but I didn't like the look of the front or the price (awesome stock front fans contribute to that price).

These Rumpl nano puff blankets finally went on sale at REI, so grabbed a couple for camping and outdoor events this year

75x52 inches
  • Weather-resistant recycled 30-denier ripstop polyester shell with DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • NanoLoft® insulation is made from postconsumer recycled fibers designed to trap warmth and preserve heat, designed to mimic the effects and properties of down
  • Cape Clip™ allows for easy wear as a cape and hands free use to stay warm when mobile or stationary
  • Corner loops help keep the blanket anchored to the ground on blustery days (stakes not included)
  • Weighing just 1 lb. 12.8 oz., this travel-ready blanket packs into the included water-resistant stuff sack
  • Synthetic insulation allows for use in conventional front-load washing and drying machines

How about the I probably can never afford this but really want one? Clearly the limited edition version is overkill for the price, but it is still drool worthy if price were not a factor. Maybe one day like a 30k camper - the problem is being able to use it often enough. I mean this is fucking camping porn

$150 for that? You must be mad to spend so much on that. What's so special about it that something 1/3 the price couldn't do the same and don't give me that gobbledygook marketing bs listed on the website.

180 normally but on sale for 130.

The biggest advantages besides quality materials are weight and pack size. Just like down, synthetic insulation comes in different grades (of loft), and you gotta pay for the best weight to warmth ratio. That's what you are paying for.

Stuff like the wear as a cape so you can use your hands without losing the blanket, are just nice thoughtful add ons but really not what you are paying for. You are paying for the right blend of warmth, to weight, to size, to durability factor with the materials used.

This could be a luxury item you take backpacking for some people. Or it's just light and small to carry to outdoor events, like concerts or picnics.

It all seems so unnecessary. I'm very old school and prefer wool for most outdoors equipment even though it's not the best. I've got a heavy winter wool cloak which I think is what you meant and not a cape. wool clokes are inspired by all ww1 ww2 clothing and keep you warm and allow movement. although not something id advise wearing when not out in the middle of nowhere because i managed to frighten some of the neighbours this past winter during a very fog heavy mornings as it became light outside. I had a winter baclava on to keep my face warm and along with the dark cloak i looked like the grim reaper according to them.

I've a few merino wool whole head gaiters but I don't find them warming enough. does rei carry anything affordable or would you recommend something? I'd only need 2-3 pairs of them. my face and sinuses are incredibly sensitive to the cold and it's terribly painful to be outside when it's cold out in the morning.

It's necessary if you don't want to be carrying a big bag around to fit in a blanket that's also a few pounds heavier, when weight matters too. But doesn't sound like it fits your needs. If a use case does not benefit from a small packable size and light weight, then that is much easier and cheaper to shop for.

I use smartwool or Minus33 neck gaiters. They are merino wool so not so itchy. Not sure how cold it gets by you but if it gets super cold, may want to look for balaclavas they market to folks that climb mountains vs just an everyday hiker or for around town.

Chinese knockoff of a Granberg edging mill. I don't like buying Chinese, but it isn't something I'll be using much. $40 vs $160. I just hope it holds up for my intended use. I still need to buy or mill a guideboard to attach the rails to.

View attachment 79535
There are actually some pretty good Chinese made tools. I just picked up a set of parallel guides for my Festool rail saw from Banggood, $95 instead of $500 from Festool. Impressive quality. I also picked up a new set of rails for a third of what Festool wants. Banggood also sells a table saw mitre gauge for a $100 that's second to none.
They also have some knockoff's of Woodpecker tools that are well regarded at 20% of what woodpeckers is getting.

Thanks. I’m sure it would pop with some RGB, but my computer is in the corner of our living room right now - so no .

A bit of a weird case in terms of fan arrangement. Can’t go with 3x140s properly and 3x120s leaves gaps where some air circulation around the fans can occur (efficiency loss). Definitely made to be a case for water cooling. Probably going with two 2x140s top and front with some black foam board and black tape covering up the gaps (a bit ghetto, but out of sight).

It's dumb.
Nobody is getting it right these days with the small campers. They absolutely need to be lighter, and to collapse down to 55% of the stand up height when going down the road.
This is not difficult to do.
If you have spent much time towing with lighter tow vehicles, the weight and the aerodynamic drag adds up very quickly, and contributes to operator fatigue.
My designs are on hold until after the house is done and I am retired. I will have some things to look at in the next few years.

of course you can get an A-Frame if you want a lower profile when driving. Those are cool too - feels a bit like being in a tent too due to the shape when popped up.

I've seen the airstream or airstream style ones at campgrounds and spoken to owners, they do love them. These little sized ones, 16' long, not the big ones. They definitely aren't dumb, that is a sophisticated piece of kit, smart energy usage and it does have aerodynamic design on some level vs being just a big box.

still dumb to haul around a box of air because they are lazy engineering. That is what the action is, hauling an empty box of air.

also Airstream, if Apple made travel trailers.
2700 pounds for a base price of $52,900
20 bucks a pound.

I agree, and said the limited edition is stupid money. But it's a cool vehicle otherwise.

Can find something around 30k or less that's close enough.

I'm in Vegas for work and my wife came out the last few days, like last year. And the same as last year she got a new purse.

Where's the numpad?

Doesn't have one, just number keys above the letters. I actually enjoy playing mt go-to game on the Blade better than my PC with a 34" WS monitor. This monitor is fantastic, really just so much better than anything I have gamed on.

Went to an arts and music festival and picked up a couple small pieces. The bigger version of this had more background cool stuff, but also 8x pricier than this little guy. Great interpretive portrait of the man himself

Coolness. Let us know how that is.

Will do. I think it comes the third week of June. I'll probably try to sell the dock. It comes with a dock with speakers in it to turn the tablet into a smart home device. Not interested in that. Just want a tablet.
