im really debating if i should buy these XLR to 3.5mm jack.
I heard its pointless as the source is not balanced, but i also hear they will get rid of a lot of grounding noise regardless, due to the second ground.
(although my DAC has almost no grounding issues to begin with as well.)

Argh... i think i may end up just buying them by the end of today.

I grew up in Philly, row homes and all. Every block had a savings and loan, a bar, a funeral home and a corner store- well most had most of these.

I had to feed myself most days so I went to the store and bought Chef Boy-Ar-Dee spaghetti with meat sauce. It was a box of dried pasta, a can of meat sauce and a small can of italian hard grated cheese. In those days people would actually cook things to one degree or another, and I had that more often that I can count. Mushy pastoid in a can? NOPE.

Oh, I'm picking up a used kevlar canoe, a Swift, at a ridiculously low price. I need to do some work on the seats but if you price new canoes 3K isn't unusual new, 2k used.

Not perfect, but they help more than enough to justify the price, at least in my limited recording experience.
