Harbor Freight bench vice. Instantly love it. They are the spammiest company I've ever seen when it comes to emails, and slow to ship, but it's a pretty great deal.

I ordered a new protective case for my Samsung S20 FE phone, got it today from Amazon. Part of my old case broke off after over 4 years of use. The part that covers the on/off/lock button. The new case was cheap enough, about $10. It is a bit lighter blue than my old one, but still nice enough.

Got my new phone today. That was quick. Setting up phones is a chore, and I'm doing two of them. Setting up the brand new internet phone, and preparing the old internet phone for primary duty. Trying not to forget anything. I'm hoping the extra ram helps in opening the huge pdfs I use for work.

My last purchases of any kind of electronics or tech for a long while:

Two of the new JBL Flip 7 speakers, and one of the new Lamzu Inca gaming mice which really has good measurements compared to my favorite few mice ever.

That's it. I have zero need for any new tech or electronics unless something breaks. I have everything I could want and will simply sit out this entire trade war, and save money rather than spend it like a jackwagon.

Damn… my local car stereo shop had a sale on NOS head units. I upgraded my Pioneer 7” unit to a Jensen 10.1” double din unit for $350 installed.

We are traveling to Chicago this summer for the SoaD gig at Soldier Field. 5 hours one way.

Couldn't pass up that deal even though it wasn't in the budget.

My 14 year old Logitech MX518 is still going strong! How much of a difference is there in these fancy new mice?

Our family information center is a white board. Our unfortunately too busy social calendar is becoming complicated. I bought some magnetic white board sheets so we can add and move things around as needed.

Looks like my magnesium 40 g mouse did not ship in time to miss the tariffs so I'm sure that's going to go up by virtually double. Ended up having to order one from Amazon unfortunately. One seller had already upped the price to $200 from $150 but I found the one other seller who still had it at MSRP.

Man. Exciting times right.

I'm using a 40g mouse that is the right size and shape for my hand, and no holes. This is pretty cool, feels amazing. Previously the lightest gaming mouse I used that fit well was 57g. Gaming test will have to wait until tomorrow though, heading to the woman's house.

You have a fucking diamond right there..

Those MX518's lasted me like 5-7 years till they would start double/ triple clicking.

Then Logitech came out with newer shittier mice that would start that very thing just after warranty expires so every middle click would open 3 tabs.. every click would shoot 3 bullets instead of one.

Lately I've been using a Steel Series.. reminds me of the original logitech that would last at least half a decade.

The wife uses Enermax trackballs.. she also likes them over the newer Logitech.

I've been using shitty giveaway mice that came with my refurb computers, and what they lack in sexiness, they make up in durability. They just work. No problems at all. I always liked logitech mice when they worked well, but I haven't owned one that hasn't failed, and they fail sooner than I think they should.

I have a Logitech G9 that's been going since 2009. I replaced it with a G502 Proteus in 2015 which I'm currently using.

I remember the mx518 quite fondly as well. I go through phases with mice. I kind of settled on two mice for a while now but when the tariffs were started I wanted to try a lot more mice before I had to worry about instability in pricing.

I used to like a hefty mouse. When the very light gaming mice thing started coming out I thought it was just a fad and stupid. But then I tried one. I loved it and it was really good for FPS games. Definitely just felt easier and more intuitive to get good shots.

Then I learned about grips and shapes. I use a somewhat relaxed claw when I game. Just what I'm working or just browsing that it morphs into a bit of a palm grip. So you need to get the right size for the grips you use and your hands.

Some people like ergo mice some people like ambidextrous mice I like having a hump and it's got to be in the right spot. You can go OCD on this stuff but I found what I like.

But I've been itching to try a 40 g mouse when I've been used to 60 g to 70g mice for gaming. Wireless of course.

Going to be curious to see how I flick my shots tomorrow night on Apex Legends.

Do you use a pad with a raised bubble thingy to support your tendons?

Mine is double that height. Prevents fatigue.

A Panasonic Lumix FZ35.

A neighbor was selling her and offered to part with it for $20. Has a case, battery, small tripod, she even threw in a Samsung Evo 34GB card.

It does has a good optical zoom feature which my Pixel 6 lacks. However, it is not small enough to let me put it into my pocket like my phone.

I been debating to bring it or not as its kind of bulky to carry around... Decision, decision.

There's one program we use that's in a RDP session and the lock screen within the RDP is set to like 15 minutes, so the dev of the app that it runs made a tool that stops it from operating so we can keep our sanity. Well corporate disabled it and are coming down hard on anything to stop these time outs.

So bought 2 mouse jigglers, one for at the office and one for at home. it's a device you put your mouse on and it moves the cursor just enough to stop the timeouts. My boss is trying to push for them to stop this madness but in the meantime this will get me by. We have a tool that stops our computer itself from timing out all the time, but I suspect corporate might get rid of that one too eventually so the mouse jiggler should work for that too.
