Went through the conference call, nothing really of note that I saw that hasn't already been discussed outside of AMD believes they are finally gaining momentum in enterprise (as opposed to cloud) CPU server sales and they believe this will continue.

Yep, real income is also higher than shown (closer to $1B in the most recent quarter) when you take the amortized costs out, which are done purely for tax reduction purposes and are not actual costs incurred in the quarter.

He's using GAAP numbers and ignoring that AMD's using the amortized costs from their recent acquisitions to lower their tax burden in their GAAP reporting. Their non-GAAP numbers should be used to see how their margins and profits are really doing, so the chart you linked to should be ignored...

It’s basically just for tax purposes as they are including amortized costs related to their recent acquisitions. As @adroc_thurston said, the non-GAAP numbers give a better idea of their actual profits and margins.

Embedded used to include semi-custom revenue (almost entirely consoles) but that has been changed now and embedded is by and large FPGA related (console and similar semi-custom revenue is now in gaming).
