Poll: Do you care about ray tracing / upscaling?

I don't know??? Ray tracing seems to really help the water in RTX Quake but i don't know how to disable RT specifically in Quake. I disabled "reflections" which made the water look terrible. CP77 looks pretty darn good without RT. RT can specifically be switched off in CP77. I like the idea...

I agree that it is like an automobile review where they only drive a SuperCar the speed limit, however it does simplify the review process and make things "fair" in a way. There are so many "knobs" to twist that could skew results. Just look at this thread, we don't even know where the line is...

I got a really smart buddy who swears by it. He talks about reflections in mirrors, windows and water really helping him to play a game. Like he can see around corners and get the jump on the enemy. RTX Quake certainly looks better but I don't know how much of that has to do with RT. Don't...

Question How would an E5-2690 v2 compare to an E5-2695 v2

A buddy of mine had me run CyberPunk with ray tracing off and it looked amazingly good. Many of the things I had been attributing to the ray tracing looked nearly as good with it off. Shadows and reflections were there and looked fine. No way I'd notice the difference during active gameplay.

Oh man I love FC1 and 2. FC2 has a real starfield at night, not just random stars. When we got the new cards with the raytracing I played RTX Quake which is just Quake but with better textures and raytracing. Looks tons better, especially the water.

Question It works but what the heck is going on?

Our GPU with by far the most hours on it was my son's GTX 1050Ti mobile. It served him well for years until they updated BeamNG enough that he couldn't run the some of the bigger maps, especially with traffic. He is now running a desktop with an RTX 4070 which on paper is many times better...
