I have some random thoughts:
- 5.1 GHz boost? That's on Phoenix level and very slightly lower than Hawk Point. Not sure there will be an higher clocked part.
- HX moniker seems to point out these will be 45-55W parts. Kinda expected because there are more cores, more capability per core and a better GPU on basically the same process.
- NPU lost 5 TOPS compared to the rumors, maybe for limiting consumption. Not a big deal, but Intel stans are already pointing out that LNL will have "100+ TOPS so Strix Point is useless". When performance should be measured on the field with all applications
- GPU clock is still unknown. Depending on the clock rate we could see from +33% to almost double the theoretical performance of the 780M, of course real performance will be quite BW limited in many scenarios
100TOPS for LNL is GPU included

So...

That 77 TOPS figure is notable!
It works out into a couple of peculiar conclusions:

1 Gfx is at 2.8 GHz.
2 FPU in Zen5c cores is indeed nerfed to 256 bit same style as Zen4.

This is all on assumption that Gfx is fully 8 WGPs enabled. Which for "HX" part seems to be reasonable?

Could be all wrong of course. 🙂 Or even the entire listing at Asus site was someone's trolling. 😀
But we shall see...

Some thought:

1. Old rumor of Zen5 release date 2H2024, now looks to be wrong
2. Clock regression seems to be true? But I think there maybe some variation.
3. New naming scheme is AIAIAIAIAI, ooops
4. Now looks like AMD held so many things up before until Computex and showcase everything, maybe even include RDNA4 preview. And still no reliable benchmark of anything leaked. I'm suffocating.

Strange, still no solid numbers yet. The floodgates usually have already been opened. But not this time.

1. Old rumor of Zen5 release date 2H2024, now looks to be wrong
Zen 5 is somehow going to be somehow presented at Computex. That's June 3rd. Yet, nobody knows the real release date or availability.

Retail AM5 BIOSes are ready but samples are not leaking apart from that Strix Point Geekbench. Either this time there are some super advanced restrictions applied or there are not enough samples yet. Occam's razor...

Sales embargo for Strix Point is much sooner than you think after Computex and as for AM5 samples... Not sure what to tell you about that frankly. But those samples are without a doubt out there, and I can give you a 100% completely sure guarantee on that.

Strix Halo slide - of Strix Helo configurations - has not been posted here. Whie @adroc_thurston said he did not expect lower end configurations, I disagreed, my claim was that lower tier configurations would (or should) come.

8 core, 40 CU configuration would be ideal for gaming, and this slide shows it as a possibility.

I have my doubts about the configuration on the bottom configuration. Why not just go with Strix Point? It should be close enough, and cost of that model would be too high vs. the price it could command.

Slide apparently comes from older presentation:

Frankly, the existence of the 128-bit "LP" model there puts this whole slide under doubt. That one doesn't make any sense in the slightest, that's just simply far too cut down.

That one implies to me that MLID was told something about "LP" with regards to Strix Halo from an OEM or someone else, and assumed it meant there would be a significantly cut down model, and just made up the specs (by just halving everything).

  1. Pepper the slide with cut-down variants while talking about multiple sources
  2. Ensure there's enough ambiguity to cover all kinds of options and perf targets
  3. When product launches, either get a few hits to claim a win or just argue they will come later or specs have changed close to launch
Do I need to watch the video or nailed it already?
