It's nice that Universe@home has got small task files and result files. (OK, ULX result files were big. I haven't looked if they still are.) Not so nice is that there are 6 result files per task.

Edit, during the past 12 hours, formula-boinc.org was able to pull stats from the project server only 3 times.

Day 2 of 3 of the Universe@home sprint. There are good news, and bad news.

First the good news: Those who completed tasks from the earlier ULX batch and either had these tasks error out because of the wrong disk limit in the task info, or had the tasks canceled by the server after the fact, may perhaps get credit in retrospect some time next week: The admin Krzysztof is looking into it.

And now the bad news: There were no statistics updates at formula-boinc.org anymore during the last 9 hours, and merely intermittent updates before that. Meaning, universeathome.pl server performance is going down further and further.

Especially the teams represented by the yellow and red lines in the following graph might be disappointed by the lack of updates by now:

Will there be any updates tomorrow?

PS:
I am wondering if the top producers are running ULX. They really, really shouldn't. (Except if they are in a team which is not interested in the stats advancing past the Saturday 1200UTC point.)

I avoid ULX since day 0 2 and pick the more reliable BHspin sub-project. Works well so far, except for the internet comms. As usual VPN solves the issue. This internet censorship is getting ridiculous.

BH Spin pays 1333.33, ULX pays 333, and takes twice as long.
Interesting. Before the big cancellation, I found just a single validated ULX on the dozen random hosts at which I looked at at the time, and it had about the same CPU time as BHspin and the same 1333.33 credits. (Right now there are indeed 333.33 and 666.67 variations of ULX out there, both with longer CPU time than BHspin.)

Since circa 14:00UTC, response of the project server is deteriorating again, and only half of formula-boinc.org's stats updates went through. If folks are attempting to release bunkers now, they may not see them counted towards the sprint anymore because stats could get stuck at the current standing, if this trend continues.

Update: He added credits already.

Sprint at Universe@home, day 3.

Between 21:15...21:30 UTC, formula-boinc.org succeeded to fetch the final stats update, after failing to get them during the four previous hours. This was either luck, or those who performed the most transfers or requests to the project server stopped doing so around the finish time. Rankings remained as they were, except for UBT and RKN trading places:

We are taking 12 sprint points and 1 marathon point home, and advanced from 9th to 8th in the overall ranking. --- Nice work, TeAm! Welcome, @borandi. :-)

Update, 7AA7 even reached 7th in the Universe marathon, giving us 6 points there. Alas, P3D collected points elsewhere in the meantime too, and so we are back to 9th overall.

If the "intelligent heating" at my home wasn't tied up with antivirus protein folding currently, I would have liked to give us a push in one or another marathon now...

But at least we shall soon catch up with Taiwan in the Rosetta marathon:

Well, the latest Formula BOINC sprint says "Canceled".

There's still Folding@Home vs. Tom's Hardware and a PrimeGrid challenge is going.

Oh lucky me! Asteroids is my current project, and I already have a back log (validation pending) of nearly 1.9M points.

If you have not run Asteroids in a while, you need to retrain the server, unfortunately. They will send you tonnes of sse2/sse3 tasks, and also some avx. AVX is of course what you want to get on modern hardware as it runs twice as fast as SSE2.

GPU tasks are NOT worth it, just run CPU. The new cuda100 tasks take twice as long on a GPU, and tie up a thread. Everything gets 480 points.
