Another Monster! What do these run frequency wise under a full load, on a few different projects? Like Primegrid, and WCG?

It varies, but most of the time 3.5 ghz with all 128 threads going. I forget what they do running avx-512 on LOS, but I seem to remember they hold the 3.5 or MORE.

9554 just appears to be a beast to be able to under full load hold those frequencies!!! Yours are at the stock 360 W TDP?

Well, I have not changed it, so BIOS defaults. I have not logged into SMC to check, as I can't remember the IP. But I will try.

OOPS !! Its 400. I did not set it, but its 90C and says 400 watts in the SMC screen. It might go faster if Noctua could release their SP5 heatsinks for Threadripper !

BTW its says its an ES, but its supposed to be a QS, so same as production.

The model number 100-000000896-02 differs from the publicly available 64-core Genoas. Does anybody know if this is simply because of it being a qualification sample of 9554 instead of final 9554, or might it actually be a sample of a custom SKU (with a different default TDP then)?

Base clock, or at least what the SMC is showing, differs too. I suppose a QS should have the final base clock, in contrast to an ES, shouldn't it?

100-000000790 = Epyc 9554 ....... 3.10 GHz base clock, 360W default TDP, 320W cTDP-down, 400W cTDP-up
100-000000799 = Epyc 9534 ....... 2.45 GHz base clock, 280W default TDP, 240W cTDP-down, 300W cTDP-up
100-000000804 = Epyc 9554P ..... 3.10 GHz base clock, 360W default TDP, 320W cTDP-down, 400W cTDP-up

All I have to go by is the corporate reseller on ebay advertized these as QS 9554 chips. To get the retail versions, its $500-1000 more.

They do run most all core loads at 3.5 ghz.

"AMD EPYC GENOA SP5 ZEN4 9554 64-Core 3.1GHz Processor CPU QS"

OK, new problem. The new computer, win 10. remote hosts was not there in /program data/boinc. I edited gui_rpc_auth.cfg and added the correct password. Then I rebooted. Still can not see the instance in boinctasks. What did I miss ?
I know the network and IP are good, as it can be seen by fahcontrol
its been ages. Was it that I needed to turn off some thing in windows security, like the firewall ??

I turned off the firewall for local access. still nothing

On the BOINC host:
The "firewall" on the BOINC host (which isn't a firewall in the original meaning…) needs to allow inbound TCP access to port 31416 from your main desktop computer's IP address, or from an address range in which your main desktop computer resides.

In BOINC's cc_config.xml, add <allow_remote_gui_rpc>1</allow_remote_gui_rpc> anywhere within the <options>…</options> section. Alternatively, add a remote_hosts.cfg file with the IP address of the main desktop computer on a single line. After you did one or the other, let BOINC re-read configuration files or simply restart BOINC.

A little bit more info on BOINC client configuration for remote access:
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Controlling_BOINC_remotely

On the main desktop computer:
Of course, enter the address of the BOINC host in BoincTasks.
I assume the "firewall" on this computer has already been configured four outbound TCP access to the 31416 ports of all computers in your private datacenter.

Markfw, How is your ES chip going? I'm also pondering to give it a try. Any problems with it revealed after some time of using it?
What diagnostics software do you recommend?

It works perfectly. I don't use diagnostics when its working perfect.

So there is still no sign of top-shelf air coolers ever appearing for SP5...

Meanwhile, ServeTheHome reports that they just received prototype coolers for Ampere Altra from Noctua. The article sounds as if these coolers are going to be real products.

One has to wonder why Noctua is working on Ampere Altra coolers, but seemingly not on Genoa, Bergamo, Turin coolers. Well, one aspect to this is that an Ampere Altra cooler is, as far as I can tell, nothing more than an SP3/SP6 cooler with slightly changed retention bars. But still.

Typically what you get to see via the BMC is sufficient. As usual you can access the BMC's web GUI through the dedicated LAN port, or its IPMI interface by means of any IPMI capable tools from the host OS.

This one is slightly better than what I have, as mine is 5 pipes, and this is 6 and rated for 420 watt, amd there is a supposed m99 cooler even better, but not for sale anywhere I can find.

All air coolers redacted. Even all standard three fan 360 mm water coolers are sh#t. None is capable to keep temperature below throttling ~52 deg C with 22C at home. And if the temperature at home reach 30-35C during hot summer days thanks to additional heat from two Genoas and NVIDIA then even 9 fans will not help. I added 3 more fans on top of 3 existing ones per water cooler and temperature dropped just 4 degrees

They don't throttle at 52c. Not until 100c. Mine never get over 87c@100% load.

Look at HWinfo64 during run! And even at 70C the whole rig get so hot that it starts to radiate some fumes which in few hours transform your home into chemical factory

What does not happen? You already confirmed temperatures from the hell while your chip has 52C throttling temperature

It does NOT have a throttle temp of 52c, its 100c. stop the misinformation.
