Videocardz claims it has the Super specs. The 4080 Super is being given 23 gbps memory, which is only a 3% speed increase... but it's something at least.

Videocardz claims it has the Super specs. The 4080 Super is being given 23 gbps memory, which is only a 3% speed increase... but it's something at least.

4080 Super is lame, but IIRC so was 2080 Super. Both the lower Supers look good. 4070-S gets a big perf boost, and Ti-S gets a smaller boost but also gets a memory capacity/BW boost.

I've owned both of those (still have the 8800GT in a working PC and was using it until sometime this year), and my 4070 is definitely better.

Though not the historic GPU like those were.

Well, it should be as it is the best GPU ever produced.
And when the 5090 is launched the same can be said about that.

The 6800XT is also the best GPU I've owned, but the 8800GT I bought used was probably a lot better value at the time.

Agreed, but still sad that the consumer has to pony up $800 for a 16GB that actually has the horsepower to use it.

Also, 4070 Super ought to have enough grunt to match a 3080 Ti stock and 4070 Ti with matching TDP. Still kind of sad to see 3080 Ti performance levels at $600 price considering it’s been years since its launch.

Consumer GPU market is such a snoozer these days. Far more excitement in smaller, power constrained form factors where I don’t have to worry about my GPU power connector catching fire.

I would be stupid to pay $600 for a 12GB Vram GPU. Just that Vram alone makes It unattractive for me. I would rather pay for Ti Super instead.

The best GPU manages a pathetic 32 FPS and that's without RT. Even Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty offers higher 36 FPS with RT enabled.

Nvidia seems perfectly positioned to counter both AMD and later Intel at the same time.

Look how the Super compares to supposed Battlemage specs.

Even if it gets the 2x per and 2x perf/watt, meaning 4070 Ti performance at 225W, and even if it's $499, it's still coming 6-10 months later, which Nvidia can address it again, even though right now that kind of spec is fantastic for Intel.

Intel will need to do better to turn heads such as 4070 Ti Super performance at 225W and $499. It's Q2/Q3 at the earliest, and Q3/Q4 more likely.

You could look at this as being greedy for Nvidia, but they know exactly how to price it so people will buy theirs, and when the competition becomes more fierce, they can adjust it again.

Where would Nvidia give you 4070 Ti Super level of performance for only $499? They will ask $799 for It now and even If they release the next gen, you will be happy If they will sell that level of performance for $599 let alone $499, and even that would be 33% better perf/$.

Cities Skylines is in a class of it's own, it's so bad that it's beyond ridiculous. Imagine a strategy game with hundreds/thousands of pixel sized characters on screen, all featuring a full set of teeth (and no LOD swap).

So why is Cities: Skylines 2 so incredibly heavy on the GPU? The short answer is that the game is throwing so much unnecessary geometry at the graphics card that the game manages to be largely limited by the available rasterization performance. The cause for unnecessary geometry is both the lack of simplified LOD variants for many of the game’s meshes, as well as the simplistic and seemingly untuned culling implementation.

I was being sarcastic, Intel offering 4070Ti+ performance for $499 at 225W would be a strong sell and make them a proper candidate in the GPU market.

But honestly, If by some miracle Nvidia sold Blackwell with that level of performance for even $599 and >=16GB Vram, It would be a very good price compared to what we have currently with RTX 4070. You would get >43% higher perf/$ and even extra Vram.

You must really be religious to hope for the impossible from THAT company.

Nope. Only hope is Intel and AMD.

Or a bunch of open source bored software engineers writing a virtual GPU on Linux that combines the power of two installed GPUs and brute forces through the problem.

I have less hope for that happening on Windows coz really bright engineers hate Windows.

Can’t believe I am saying is but if the RTX 4070 Ti Super is actually $799 with 16GB VRAM and 256 bus width then it’s a decent card that will age very well.

That is card that Intel will have beat if Battlemage will compete in the high end. With DLSS and FG and an efficient architecture like Ada, Intel will need BG to a hit out of the box. Exciting times ahead if the leaked pricing is true.

Yes because the performance is around 4080 level. I will not pay over a grand for a GPU and 12GB is too low. That’s makes 16GB a sweet spot and for people who want or need a proper Ray tracing card for games or dev. The Ti super is good, not great but good. It’s much than the abomination price of $1200 for a 4080.

That remains to be seen in bencharks. I doubt that company will let a 7 series card trample all over an 8 series card in the same generation.
