I needed a lens with more reach so I picked up that 11" black beauty by Celestron. It's configured for initial alignment and will be set up for astrophotography this evening with the filter wheel, guide camera, imaging camera and power/data transfer cables added into the imaging train. The baby scope in the foreground was given to me in neglected condition so I did a repair/refurb job on it that exceeded the original 1980's price paid for it but it's fully operational to as new condition and I'm gunna gift it to any niece and nephew who'd like to dive into the hobby or give it to one of the local schools who might have an astronomy club or any interested student that like to own it.

National Air and Space Museum in DC (not the Udvar-Hazy Dulles Annex)

1) god bless my 14-24. I was worried it would be too wide. I was wrong
2) auto-iso is a nice time-saver. kept shutter speed at 1/100, aperture at f/2.8, and clicked away
3) still haven't been to the Annex yet. Gotta see the SR-71 and SS Discovery!

Don't miss the Udvar-Hazy Dulles Annex. Took my first trip to DC this summer. The Udvar-Hazy was a highlight. So much awesome air and space craft. I had more fun there than at the main museum.

rode from Jersey to Coney Island yesterday with a few peeps from the Jerzy side. Saw lots of cool stuff as usual, but grabbed the smartphone for one shot. I liked all the different lines when we turned this corner, between the infrastructure and architectural elements, lots of cool lines in person at least.

Sometimes you need a fresh bike portrait of your whip in its native habitat. East Village, NYC, yesterday. Absolutely the best way to explore, observe and ingest the amazing canvas of NYC, weather permitting. Also this is the sexiest basket bike East of the Mississippi.

Bruh your city is amazing. I'm in town for the B&H expo. Went down to the Brooklyn Bridge Park and got some awesome night shots. Will post the best of the bunch when I get home this weekend

Alright here we go, a few night time shots from NYC. Damn.

Which view do yall like better #1 vs #2 (extra wide vs. tight)

Used topaz denoise+sharpen on the 3rd photo, as it was shot at 1/80s, f/2.8, ISO 16000. it did quite a bit better than standard lightroom denoise. i should have taken a long exposure, but c'est la vie. i wanted to push the camera a good bit.

Ok remainder of the best of the best (IMHO) from my trip to NYC and the B&H Bild Expo. I ended up picking ~30 photos of ~1100 (and posting an even smaller selection here).

Couple different views in and around the Hudson Yard area

Subway entrance

Bees in Central Park

Several exhibitors had models available for photo shoots, both for for "studio" photography at the Bild expo itself, and as part of the various photowalk events. Good models made good photography stupidly easy.
