nice little montage of atlas robot development timeline. it eats it pretty bad in some of the falls, and even though it is a machine i still cringe during that one ankle shot.

Wow, feels like the end of an era.

I hope this isn't the end of BD, I mean. Atlas wasn't perfect (obviously, based on those videos) but when it worked it was incredible (looks like there needed to be a lot of staging for it to work).

apparently they had a ceo change and they are moving into putting out commercial products. spot is being used for large industrial facility patrol checking instrument measurements and sampling for hazards, so the question is what sector needs human form units that probably wont get fine hand/finger control for a while.

They've been trying to build more "living worlds" within their parks and having untethered robots rather than traditional animatronics or some poor sucker in a suit would make for quite an experience.
