Just ignore the reefer madness tool. He has nothing informed nor thoughtful to offer the convo. His first post (and history on these boards) made that clear.

Maybe it’ll give those kids camping out at universities something else to do??

Oh, I'm pretty sure that many of them are way ahead of you, and not waiting for permission, hehe.

I fully understand that this is a troll post but I'll reply anyway.

I say this as someone who likes a drink. Alcohol causes way, way more social problems than weed. By several orders of magnitude!

You aren't suggesting that it's difficult to get hold of weed in the USA are you? It looks easier to get than alcohol in some places!
Let's just leave it alone, because we can't see eye to eye. There aint no good guys, there aint no bad guys. Theres only you and me and we both disagree..😔

Woo woo woo...oh oh oh...

There's probably more people that died from alcohol abuse or alcohol related incidents today alone than people that have died from non-synthetic weed...ever.
This isn't even an argument. It's horseshit from a lying sack of shit.

Weed is easier for high schoolers to get precisely because it isn't regulated and alcohol is

Alcohol is much easier for high schoolers to abuse because it is still much more prevalent in American homes than weed. People also don’t keep their weed hanging around where it’s easily visible—alcohol on the other hand is often displayed on shelves or bar carts.

Ask any cop if they would rather deal with a drunk or deal with someone who is high.

I'm not a cop but 10 times out of 10 I would rather deal with the person smoking pot.

I'd almost say...thank Farmers and not Pharma.
Almost… but have you seen the facilities that they’re growing cannabis indoors? Lab-like in the way everything is controlled! Humidity, air flow, water, lighting…

Science + farming tech FTW.

I have a sneaking suspicion that most people against decriminalization of weed have no actual idea of it's effects, hate minorities or both.

Most things that get abused or smashed while high are just Doritos bags. And I don't think I've ever seen a belligerent person high on only marijuana.

I don't mind people using weed.. the only thing I don't like about weed is doing it openly out on the street.

I don't know if it's ever happened to you.. you're driving and then all of a sudden you inhale massive amount of marijuana. Maybe you are like me and go woohoo free euphoria!

But sooner or later someone's gonna go crazy and blame their car accident on the "euphoria".

So much rather it be like alcohol.. you're allowed to buy it, drink it but not do it in public.. police will ticket public drinking?

I'm sure there's an argument whether weed is good or bad for society or people in general as an academic "in a vacuum" thought experiment.

We aren't in such an experiment.

One problem is throwing hordes of people into jail over it, creating actual criminals out of some of them by the time they get out. But as I say, it's hardly a problem if you are some govt agency getting their funding by going after it, or a company running a private prison--they'll welcome all the business they can get!

Another is: who gets paid? As long as there is a demand, there will be a supply. That's a proven fact, Prohibition is right there in our history. Someone's getting that money, and is it better for US businesses to get it or cartels? And presumably if it's supplied by legit businesses, it can be regulated so you don't get crazy additives like you apparently do now.

Lesser evil, pick it.

On balance alcohol is considered a mild social lubricant and relatively harmless when consumed responsibly. Weed however tends to have excessive deleterious affects on the user and society as whole.

Besides, we tried the alcohol ban and it was unsuccessful wheres pot users, distributors and growers have long been successfully prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for as long as any can remember. And it should remain this way for the sake of the children.
What are the effects of pot vs scotch? Not your feels but the real effects?

What it is considered is just emotional horseshit.

".. police will ticket public drinking?"

Not only ticket, but arrest and jail.

Our deputies did it often. Stop a car for DUI, arrest the driver, impound the car. If any passenger was also intoxicated, they got arrested too for Public Intoxication. Something about ... 'we can't leave them out there where they might get hurt'.

Also, you can get pinched for merely having an open bottle in the car, even if you haven't touched it.
