This got me hooked a lot on release. I wish it had more content... but then it was $40.

  • When I'm bored, I like to go grenade launcher + supply pack = plonk plonk toss nades non-stop.
  • They need to make the flamethrower more viable. It should ministun at the nozzle or something. The self-burn hurts too much, and you can't walk forward and fire.
  • I think it'd be cool if bots or even bugs had a super bullet-spongey giant enemy that you fight for a long time. You can kill it using regular bullets and maybe take about 30 EATs (which isn't even that bad with a coordinated squad). It needs to be towering, even bigger like the bile walker thingy.

So, let me ask this. In real life, if you had a flamethrower, you are telling me you would walk forward into the fire as you are using it without having a flame protective suit?

I do agree with you that the flames should stun certain enemies (obviously not likely the automatons, but all but the largest bugs should get stunned or immediately attempt to flee from the flames).

In my experience, if it gets remotely dense (like 3 orange armored walkers), they just kill you through the flame.

The Hive Guards, Stalkers, and larger bugs will need to be kited a bit. If you're dealing with any kind of Spitter, it's best to just pick up something else since they'll kill you before you kill them and you can't see them through your fire (if you're using first person on ADS). The tesla towers are especially deadly to bugs and most of the time on difficulty 7 when we encounter a bug breech, I'll just toss a tesla on top of it and continue on because the only things that will survive are titans and chargers but by the time they show up, we are long gone and can kill them from range.

The tesla tower is low key underrated due to when fully upgraded the cooldown time is what 60s? It's so damn good on defense missions, I have used it on rescue missions at choke points I know the citizens don't path to but bugs/bots would and it's fantastic. Only idiots die to it if placed properly. Or those that under estimate it's range.

i'm a big fan of the Tesla but mostly only use it when i'm playing with my boys. When playing with randoms alot of people are too dumb to avoid it.

I think the current issue with the flamethrower is that it does way too much damage to Helldivers. Just setting foot over a patch of flame will outright kill you in a few seconds unless you stim. I think that is way too quick considering Helldivers wear some kind of armor while bugs are literally just exposed.

As a Red Alert 2 fan, it would be a cool homage if you could shoot your Arc Thrower at the Tesla Tower and it would supercharge it, therefore increasing its fire rate temporarily.

Rapid Launch System is currently bugged. It's still 150 seconds even after you get the ship module, but Circuit Expansion definitely increases its lethality (towards anything that gets near it).

Edit: After having a discussion on Reddit, it seems the wording on RLS is badly translated. It should say that it's a 100% reduction on the call-in timer - meaning the time between when the strategem lands and the tesla fully deploys. It's roughly a three-second time reduction and not the 100 second cool-down reduction like the description alludes to.

Yea I know the wording is misleading and my cool down time is wrong, I think it's 90s from the moment you call it down until you can do a new know, but was thinking for having it last for the entire duration before looking at how much time is left before you can throw a new one. The only thing I have left to unlock is the ship module where supply packs give full support weapon ammo, which I think still isn't working anyways.

It's not like it was ever hidden.

Seems like it is not so much that it is needed but that they basically ignored that for launch until now. It is one thing to require from the beginning, so anyone that maybe didn't want to do it could refund, but now everyone is stuck.

The requirement for a psn account was not there at launch it was recently now added which is a crap thing to do after thousands have already paid for the game and most likely played past the 2 hour limit by now.

I don't care for it particularly because I have a PS5 so I already have an account but there's people who don't or live in countries where they can't have one.

From what I understand due to this there's been some review bombing.

The true problem is indeed for the people in countries where linking to PSN is impossible. They should be getting some type of alternative way to play the game, or get refunded; because in those specific cases they're literally unable to play a game they've purchased (and is still active, etc; it's not like the game just shut down like some dying MMORPG would).

Whats the rules for getting a steam refund where the developer/publisher changes the requirements needed to play the game months after you have bought it?

The most successful and biggest failure game of all time period.

It went from like 150k mostly postive review... to a whopping 400k mostly negative review.
I wonder if its enough to make Sony back down tho.

I doubt it.

Review bombing has already started. Also, when I bought the game I don't recall seeing the PSN requirement but I could just have missed it.

i remember seeing 3rd party eula... but i dont remember seeing the need to link psn account.

I dont even use my psn account anymore... i havent owned a play station since ps4.

they don't need to even do that...

It would serve no point and purpose as you can just make bots to do that.

Its a total data mining tatic, and everyone see's it.
They took one of the hottest games of 2024 and litterally shot themselves in the heart, because it got that much attention and they want some of it.
