If you have the Anniversary Update release of Windows 10 on your laptop, you can easily set up your PC to be a Wi-Fi hotspot. Windows 10 has a singular function that you can use to enable devices within your range to access your internet. It matters not whether the internet connection you intend to share is wireless or wired. You can share your internet via the Settings App on your PC. The steps below will help you share your internet with nearby devices.
Step 1
Open 'Settings'
Click on the 'Start' menu. You will find the 'Settings' in the bottom-left part of the menu.
Step 2
Click 'Network and Internet'
On the Settings menu, find the 'Network and Internet' menu and click on it.
Step 3
Select Mobile Hotspot
On the left hand menu of 'Network and Internet Page', find the 'Mobile Hotspot' menu and click on it. It is the third menu from the bottom.
Step 4
Activate the Share my Internet Button
Put the Share my internet button to ‘ON’.
Step 5
Give your Hotspot a Password
While still on the 'Mobile Hotspot' menu, click on 'Edit' and set the preferred 'Password' for your hotspot and click 'OK'.
Step 6
Choose How to Share your Internet
Ensure that your internet will be shared via Wi-Fi while you are still on the 'Mobile Hotspot' menu. Do not select the 'Bluetooth' option to share your internet.
