The Split Screen feature in Windows 10 allows you to virtually split your monitor screen into two. Simply put, you can work on two apps simultaneously by maximizing each of their windows to half of the size of your monitor.
Here’s how:
Step 01
Maximize the first window
Click the title bar of the first window, drag the window to the right or left edge (left edge for this example) of the monitor, and release the mouse button when an outline covering 50% of the screen appears. This maximizes the selected window to half of the size of the monitor, and automatically snaps it to the entire area you moved it to (left portion for this example). Snapping the first window to one portion leaves all the other opened apps’ interfaces scattered in the remaining half of the screen.
Step 02
Maximize the second window
Click the second app you prefer to work on from the remaining half portion of the screen. This automatically maximizes the second window to fill the remaining area of your monitor. When this happens, all the other windows that are opened are automatically hidden behind the two you populated the screen with.
Step 03
Get back to normal state
Click the title bar of any of the two windows, and slightly drag the window to the center of the screen. This restores the window back to its normal state, thus revealing all the other opened windows that were earlier hidden behind these two. You can now do the same to the second window as well to bring it back to its normal state.
