I don't have any ad blockers installed that I am aware of. If the advertising goes away, does AnandTech go away?
How do people browse the internet without adblock? That looks like it's from Idiocracy.I believed you for a second, then checked in incognito. The horror...
Seriously WTF is that mess?! Adblock for LIFE!

Yeah that's why I get my news from P&N or news aggregation sites (slashdot). F advert walls, I'll pay for your service if you're worth it.Some news sites are now requiring to you disable ad blocking to view their content or (gasp) actually pay for it.

I'd rather they mine coins while on their web site, than actually take MY time and visual space, and show me ads. I can always buy faster PCs and video cards. But I can't get back the time I wasted looking at ads. Some news sites are now requiring you to disable ad blocking to view their content or (gasp) actually pay for it.
Considering the quality of most of the new sources, I feel I'm paying for the quality I'm getting. When *I* have to do research to figure out the truth of a press release, I'm doing their job for them.TBH, I do a feel like I am doing something immoral when I view all of that news for free without paying for it any way. This model cannot work in the long term for those creating news content and we are most likely wrong for not paying for it.
It's their job to come up with ways to sustain their business. If a site is pushing shitty ads that take up the whole page or annoying pop ups, they shouldn't be surprised if people find ways around that. If nobody wants to pay to look at a site, that means that site's content is not worth it.TBH, I do a feel like I am doing something immoral when I view all of that news for free without paying for it any way. It's not just you. I too noticed all of Anandtech's advertising going away.Is it just me or did all of AnandTech's advertising go away?

Use something like noscript to prevent the script from blocking you for using adblock. Some news sites are now requiring you to disable ad blocking to view their content or (gasp) actually pay for it.

Then I add some CSS with a user style to show at least the text. That works on almost every site except Forbes. I don't read Forbes anymore. Then the page won't even load. News sites are ridiculous with how much freaking JS they use, and like 50 different domains. Makes no sense. Text, pictures and MAYBE a video, should not require that much freaking code.
