My condolences @SystemVipers

I don't care for FB so I probably wont be participating. Unless it's a project I'm gonna run anyway (or currently running) then I'll switch to the Ukraine team, but I wont be changing to a different project for FB specifically.

And a bunch of disk space (7.4 GB or more per python task)
Putting 120GB SSD's in a lot of my dedicated crunching machines seemed like a much better idea at the time when I did it than it does right now I may be mostly on the sidelines on this one for disk space reasons, but I'll do what I can.

Pretty much all of the top_hosts run Rosetta v4.20, not rosetta python projects.

As a side note, Rosetta@home had quite a few really buggy workunit batches lately. They once used the Ralph@home project to weed out stuff like that, but they don't anymore. Apparently, donated computer time is too plentiful nowadays to waste time with beta testing.

So need to switch wu's if I understand what your saying
I just got home and checked my rigs and they all are space deprived

thanks

I'm just running a few python vbox tasks per computer depending on how much RAM and storage space I have.

Tim @ FB posted this

I found that you can STOP VBox tasks from being crunched...so you can then just crunch the standard Rosetta tasks.

Go to your account on Rosetta website:

Click on:

Computers on this account > "View"

and then for each computer (host) listed, click on "Details" and at the bottom of the list it says:

"VirtualBox VM jobs"

Change it to "Allow" and your account will say:

Host updated
This host will no longer receive new VirtualBox VM jobs

Do this for each computer.

That's it !!

(Oh and click on "Rosetta" project and then "Update" within BOINC Manager too, so it knows your new settings)

Yeah, there's no steady supply of the "standard" Rosetta tasks but the dreaded python tasks are always available.

<app_config>
<app>
<name>rosetta_python_projects</name>
<max_concurrent>5</max_concurrent>
</app>
</app_config>

This has been limiting me with that many downloads on one of my PCs although I thought that was a limit for the client to run vs download. It seems to only work when there is plenty of other tasks.
Restarting the client with the VM has become unmanageable some times works.
But Rosetta still gives credits for VM tasks that are aborted based on CPU time so I don't bother restart the client for stuck Rosetta tasks.

As far as I can tell from top_hosts, Rosetta v4.20 work is almost always being generated. "Ready to send" shows 0 most of the time though not because there is no work being put out, but because there are more than enough hosts requesting this work. I.e. any work generated immediately goes off to hosts which request it.

Basically, Rosetta@home is like two projects on a single site:
One, which offers a native application, has got a lot more donor computer time available than it needs — much like OpenPandemics (after it gained GPU support).
Another, which offers a difficult (borderline infeasible) to run virtualized application, has got less donor computer time available than it apparently could use.

I have one running, and 2 switched over and joined the Ukraine team, but not getting any work for the 2 new boxes. If I do, we will have over 300k ppd in these 3 boxes. Just over 100k now.
Well, I got Ukraine to 2nd place, and even if I start getting units on the other 7742's, I doubt that I can do enough to overcome TSBT

Just in case it starts handing out more, I added all 16 of my boxes, including 6 5950x's and a 3950x and a 1950x

They do the sprints now where it's scored by day. So on day 1 we(Ukraine) was 2nd place, but now on day 2 we're actually in third behind P3D currently (61,672 to 42,072). We're still 2nd overall for the sprint, but if we can get ahead of P3D today to secure 2nd place today, and can secure 2nd place tomorrow it would mean more points, so that's the goal I'm shooting for at least.

Based on the current sprint scores, Ukraine has now moved into FB overall position #5 from #6, now ahead of CNT

@Icecold - thanks for the update / al;ways good to hear from you
@Markfw - you rock

Yesterday came home from the Funeral, Rosetta sucked so shut down my rigs and started drinking
woke up in the evening and saw 24 wu's available, jumped up
turned everything on and started the tickler and hit the sack again.

woke up this morning, saw that all my rigs were fed, not a lot but enough for now and then looked at Team Ukraine.
very nice...

Heading out to meet my bud for a late lunch.

Rock on! /nice work!

OK, the 3950 picked up some tasks ! I knew adding them would give me a change of getting more units.

If all these boxes got units, we would be in first place !
