They made pickups before the el Camino, it was kind of thing back then multiple companies had em back then. For some reason Australia seems to love pickup cars, I saw a lot of em there when I was there 6-7 years ago.
I think they look pretty sweet, I almost bought a restored El Camino SS when I graduated from college but ended up deciding to get a newer car instead, kinda regret that.
