Rumor: NV pressuring AIBs not to work with Intel

Allegedly NV tries to block AIBs from releasing newer Arc GPUs.

Certain people are deeply, deeply concerned with AMD's 15% dGPU market share pushing out poor, poor NV's 85% market share by using FSR muscle.

Surely those same people will be outraged if it's true.

And who can forget GPP mentioned on that page, where NV blocked AIBs from using their own custom inhouse branding for AMD GPUs. Ya know, to "prevent confusion".

Considering the horrors that Nvidia has committed in the name of market share over the years, it's amazing they haven't been successfully sued.

I suspect that this will be a firm no, but go on all you consumer champions so concerned about no DLSS in FSR games show me how neutral you are!

Why would Nvidia bother? Only the paranoid survive.
Maybe Battlemage isn't a BM.

The fact that this is happening to Intel of all companies is pure gold.
Without a doubt, but this is still bad for consumers.
Just as Intel's antics against others were bad for the consumers, Nvidia antics against others are bad for consumers.

While big companies may be found of "my enemy's enemy is my friend" (witness some of the aligiances we see from time to time to get a certain standard adapted etc.), we consumers are the ultimate losers.

I would rather that no company got away with stuff like this even if I have to acknowledge a large amount of Schadenfreude that Intel is on the receiving end this time.

This does not make sense unless AMD and Nvidia are price fixing videocards. Intel is too weak in videocards and Nvidia is potentially manufacturing on Intel in the future. Just a waste of resources and would cause negative relations with their partner. Genuinely stupid except to ruin a price fixing market.

Intel does throw a wrench in a Amd\Nvidia price fixing market however. This gens increase in pricing from both company does look suspicious however.

I sometimes wonder how far you had to push eVGA to give the middle finger on a product they built their company from.
I also wished eVGA would take Intel, and make there products better with better engineering, but i heard eVGA shut down most of there GPU department in Taiwan. They also lost K1NGP1N.

Maybe Battlemage isn't a BM.

If we follow intel's stupid naming scheme, it would probably be BTM.
Why? because Intel seems to ALWAYS have to have 3 letters for a thing.

EVGA was the best NV GFX AIB company hands down based on the quality of their support department alone. Was so sad about their exit.

Back in the day, I think BFG might have been better. Or at least on par with EVGA. When they were still around, that is.

I always wondered whether BFG's demise was due the Nvidia solder defects (bumbgate).
Certainly my 8800 GT was BFG but when it went, BFG had already folded. I think even in Europe they might have had 5 years warranty, but that was no user to me when I needed warranty they had already folded. Think this was in that card's third year, but since I wasn't a heavy user my failure was probably late and the flood of warranty claims had already seen BFG close its doors. Or at least that was my suspicion.

The praise for excellent customer care in both cases didn't really apply outside North America as much, I think.

At least in USA, BFG had a lifetime warranty I believe. EVGA and XFX used to as well.

I immediately searched this thread for the words "fear" and "afraid".

I'm disappointed in you guys.

How come none of you think that this is nGreedia being fearful of Intel's nextgen parts? I bet the decent raytracing perf came as a shock to them too, as well as XeSS. They have set quite a low bar with 4060/4060 Ti. Ripe for the taking by decently priced Intel cards. They probably can't do anything to respond in time with improved specs if the market suddenly starts ignoring their turds for nextgen Intel cards, even next year.

Go, INTEL!

this is hilarious.

and this thread will never achieve the level of of grief and unhappiness of the other thread.

It just lacks the angst and perhaps financing to stir the pot.

. . .

I never thought I would buy an Intel GPU, but value is value. I am very curious to see what Intel has coming out that has Nvidia running scared and trying to act like Intel of the GPU market.

This doesn't stop anyone with an Nvidia GPU from experiencing the way it is meant to be played so it is fairly uncontroversial.

Okay I promise I'll stop being salty and sarcastic now.

oh, nah, we need to keep bumping this to annoy the hard core re-posters in the other thread.

It is a reminder that nvidia is once again repeating nvidia's long history of being nvidia and doing the most anti-consumer thing possible.

And yea, AMD is doing some nasty anti-consumer stuff over there. But I can say that because I am not an AMD employee or marketing person or whatever.

But I am not entirely sure some of the folks over there can say that about nvidia over here without losing their job . . .
