I have a Samsung A53, dropped it and its screen died. The phone, when its OLED display is destroyed, renders its USB port completely non-functional, so you can't get your data just by plugging it in. Not the main topic, but that happens to it. If the touch but not the OLED is damaged, things will still work fine.

Anyway, I ordered an aftermarket LCD. Touch doesn't work. I order off ebay a prayer from the non-working inventory. It looked good, but there was a crack in the corner and thus also had a dead screen. But anyway, I decided to swap "non-working Ebay" phone to the aftermarket LCD and hooked everything up. Touch works on the aftermarket LCD with the Ebay bought "non-working" phone.

It wasn't a busted cable because I swapped cables from nonworking Ebay to my original phone and no touch still occured on the aftermarket LCD.

I'll hack into the protected Ebayed phone and probably resell it or use it. I'll need to procure an LED screen for my original phone though.

A good used A53 is probably very cheap on Swappa unless you just like working on them...

They are still going for about $158 on Swappa, about the same price that I got my original used this past March.

Dropped from body midsection height or from somewhere much higher? Must be a really crappy design to just die from accidental dropping.

Midsection down onto asphalt. Originally, the outer glass was cracked but the internal was still functional.

One of the Ebay gambles had just a tiny drop on its corner, the outer glass might not have even gotten cracked, But the OLED part did have a crack. That resulted in a dead phone, and likely killed USB file access just like I personally experienced.
