Weinstein, 72, will remain imprisoned because he was convicted in Los Angeles in 2022 of another rape.

But WTF?? If they can do that to this guy who's universally reviled, they can do it to Trump too.

BTW my wife and I were watching a movie online a week or so ago and when the Weinstein Companies screen popped up at the beginning she groaned. No matters what happens with this case the best Harvey can hope for is that he gets out of prison before he dies.

Keeping the details of a trauma straight after so many years, having to tell and retell without a single inconsistency (perjury).

The DA certainly has a multitude of (alleged) victims here especially as compared to the normal rape case. And the witnesses against Weinstein are certainly determined.

A poor person wouldn't have the resources to mount vigorous appeals. One of the many problems I have with the CJS

Indeed, even an innocent poor person wrongly accused will often have far worse outcomes just from being ground through the criminal justice system than most guilty rich men will ever face.

Besides facing pre-trial incarceration that guilty rich men always avoid, they will likely face losing their job and income they need to live on, plus have a significant probability of being forced to plea bargain a guilty plea just to limit the damage, or face being falsely convicted.
