Doom Eternal really hasn't grabbed me either. I liked Doom 2016, but the format of Eternal seemingly being "you entered another area, you are now surrounded by enemies" just isn't my thing. I fired up Doom 2016 again and right from the start it's a bit more plot-driven. I think Eternal needed to pick up where 2016 left off to have pulled me in a bit more.

---

I'm playing Horizon Zero Dawn for the first time, kinda. I'm about an hour into the plot, a little after the Proving. I don't know whether my general mood is lower than it ought to be, or maybe this game hasn't pulled me in as much as other games in the last ten years have, but I often just fire up a half-hour game of StarCraft 2 co-op maybe because I don't want to get sucked into a new game and say end up playing late nights (I highly value a good night's sleep!).
I had the same feeling about Doom eternal. Not being able to crouch. Run and gun. I am now really playing the game at the easiest just to experience the plot, the storyline.

I think I'm almost done lies of P. I have it on computer and while I'm not so good at these type of games, elden ring has gotten me into souls like game more than usual.

I'm stuck on the door guardian boss right now. Sometimes I feel like my inputs don't register too. What is most annoying is your stamina is taken away with the shock affect when he hits you and it's hard to get an attack on the right leg.

That guy is dumb. Only fight I really didn't like. I went wired controller for this game over bluetooth. I am sure it didn't matter in the end. After my 3rd NG+ (yes, I REALLY like the game) I fully restarted and was doing so much better compared to the first go around, learning all the timings is key. Also, make sure you are fully patched to v1.4.0, the early versions were kind of wonky on some fights. Last patch seemed to smooth a lot of animations out to make them easier to read.

Yea it's a gimmick boss. Eventually I got his right leg and got a critical.

Now I'm stuck on nameless puppet..2 days and 1 broken Xbox controller and I got him down to phase 2 with a slither of his health left. Using the acid spear +10 along with the max stamina amulet and another amulet that lowers physical damage.

Phase one is simple to parry but I always get hit by this slash red attack which I can't seem to dodge left, right or into him as it always gets me.

Phase 2 I use the perfect guard grindstone after I get a few hits in on him. I'm using the shield fully upgraded but eventually it runs out.

What I hate about this is how I have to manage the grindstone activation which takes time and he's too quick. Also have to repair my weapon by phase 2 so that's the first thing I do as I have control. Sometimes he wambo combos me and that's it.

His laser beam forward attack always hits me in phase 2. I can count 3-4 times now I've had him almost beat with barely an inch of health left in his health bar but I start fumbling with throwables or trying to switch to my healing and he ends up killing me.

I also hate how it feels like some actions I do are super delayed in this fight. This is a brand new controller too so it's not that but sometimes I swear I'm holding guard to activate legion arm shield but he doesn't do it. Or I try to get off a heal and I hear myself clicking the button but it's either delayed or gets interrupted by some other movement or other times it just does t happen so I have to press it twice.

Was hoping to beat this guy so I could uninstall this game and move on to perhaps lords of the fallen.

If you want to give up, there is a super easy cheese method against this boss.
Upgraded Aegis + Acid spear. Hold down aegis and just keep stabbing with RB. Keep an eye on your legion, you might need to refill a few times. Might need to spec more into advance for it to work. Might take a couple of times to get it.

or you can always give up your heart at the stargazer for the bad ending.

Last couple of bosses in Lies of P were such pains that I just stocked up on throwables and spammed those. Managed to finish it after my Game Pass had expired too lol.

I beat Quake II: The Reckoning mission pack yesterday. I now have all the Quake II achievements but one. I still have to beat Ground Zero.

Ah I'm not giving up. I have 35 points in Advance. I'll get him eventually. I didn't upgrade my belt to hold more consumables but I am using the fully upgraded Aegis shield and doing the poke method. It works but it's slow as he does a lot of jumping around. I might respect P organ again to be able to use two perfect guard grindstones, those helped a lot.

Finally beat lies of P and the nameless puppet. What a game! Sure glad to be done with it but I liked the more linear level design with different pathways and shortcuts.

I had that guy in phase two with half an inch of health left and a broken weapon...thank goodness I got all the parry's right and kept stabbing with the broken weapon intermittently until he was done.

Now maybe I'll buy lords of the fallen. I try to keep at least one souls like game on the PC each time.

I'm about to start playing this (sans cabinet, unfortunately). It isn't new...2007 I think, but apparently it'll run fine on a Pentium 3 lol.

I wanted to play the non-existent arcade sooo badly when I first saw the movie, heh.

They even offer dimensions for building your own cabinet.

I just started playing this too. I wouldn't say it has really grabbed me yet, but the setting is unusual and different from the usual fantasy. That already makes it interesting. It also seems like a shorter and more focused game than huge RPGs like Starfield or Witcher 3, which is what I'm looking for.

I liked Eternal and played through it, but it definitely feels very different from 2016 and I don't see myself returning to it.

I think if I was more invested in the plot of Horizon Zero Dawn then it would have drawn me in more, but my understanding so far of the plot being "the outcast was outcast from birth / for no good reason whatsoever, doesn't much want to be in the tribe anyway..." strikes me as trying to fit in with a group that will never accept you, what's the point. Why should I care about their problems if they think I'm dirt? Now I'm risking life and limb to safeguard the tribe? WTH?

I think I might be yearning for the opposite, like the achievement of mullering one's first Draugr Deathlord in a Skyrim run Despite everyone saying that they always fall back to stealth archer, it's a style I've never played.

I loved HZD but mainly for the action and atmosphere. The story was pretty bland for the first half of the game, but once you learn about the history of the world, it gets a lot better and the ending was pretty good as well.

Waiting on Grey Zone Warfare to see reviews. Looks like it could be gud. We'll see. Replayed Outer Worlds with WeMod cheats on for giggles. Was fun just blasting away. No one shot kills or damage buffs - I just wanted to run around killing stuff.

I've been on a Shoot 'em Ups Exploring Spree lately, haven't touched that genre in ages (with the sole exception of Cuphead about 2 years ago, which I absolutely loved btw; the soundtrack alone is enough to love the game). By checking on Steam I was actually pleasantly surprised, not to say astonished, to see that they had not only one but two Toaplan Shooters collections. I didn't know there even was a PC version of those games to start with (at least for most of them) and not only that I didn't know it was specifically bundled the same way as they were (similarly) back on the PS1 imports (Toaplan Shooting Battle 1 is one such game I actually purchased back then, and one of the only imports I ever played at the time).

It has games such as Truxton, Out Zone, Flying Shark and one of my all-time Shoot 'em Up favorites - Twin Cobra (I absolutely adore that game to this very day). So yeah, lately I've given a plunge back into the Shooters genre and because it's been so long it genuinely feels like I'm playing those games for nearly the first time. It's a refresh for me, love it. Not sure how long it will last though. But I'll enjoy it while I'm in the mood for them. Outside of that I actually made a come back to Monster Hunter World (with Iceborne), just continuing where I left off about 2 years ago or so. And still loving it again. What an incredible video game (and the music in this game is phenomenal).

I finally got into HZD yesterday; all I needed to do was to find a village and get some side quests Long-lost great-grandmother's ring? You lost your friends? Favourite spear? 60 crimson nirnroot? woot.

Just beat Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed and it was... entertaining I suppose. I needed a break from serious games like Escape From Tarkov and needed something that I could just run around and mindlessly blow shit up but what I found was a rather linear EA-styled handholding experience with horrendous writing and possibly even worse voice acting (though I think the VAs were going for "over the top"). The missions were nothing special, the open worlds are small, the variety is decent but not needed and only adds certain frustrations when completing optional objectives, and the story is what it is. Not even halfway through, I found myself just smashing Spacebar to skip through the abysmal dialogue so I could just get to the missions - mainly because for over half the missions you'll have five minutes of incredibly cheesy dialogue for two minutes of gameplay.

The worst part of all is that I spent the 17 hours it took me to complete the game wondering who this game was marketed towards because I thought this was a relatively new series until I looked it up and discovered they're remastered games from the PS2 era which explains all of the dated references. For mindless sandbox fun, you can definitely do better, especially since it was still $16 on sale. I will say the graphics were pretty nice but that's about it.

Still waiting for Rimworld's 1.5 patch to hit so I can start a new colony and I recently had to switch to switch to the Steam version of Red Dead Redemption 2 since my PS4's DVD drive broke a few days ago. I was at 94% for a 100% file and the damn thing corrupted my saves in the process of it dying, so now I'm starting over on Steam, but now with mods at 4K and no lag.

FOR DEMOCRACY~!!!!

I wish i could get more hours in helldivers to get more unlocks.
I'm doing what a couple others have suggested and am saving up my credits to unlock the new expansion as it drops any day now. I have my supercredits and now 250+ normal credits as of last night ready. Saw a preview video that was posted showing some of the new weapons, and the one bolt action rifle looks like a real winner (at least against bots... too slow for bugs).

That should be close to enough to get the main/secondary weapons across 3 tiers of the expansion.

What I really need to do is more very high difficulty matches to get the ultra rare metals/samples. I think I have all the rares I need, just low on the common and ultra rare.

If you're talking about the new Warbond and ship modules, they are already out. Also, medals max out at 250 so unless you have everything unlocked already, I wouldn't sit on more than 210 just in case the major order gets completed and the medals get wasted.
