Watching his post-court press conference ... his attorney looks completely mortified.

I can't imagine any competent atty letting their client do this public rambling.

Tomorrow's gag violation hearing is going to be the prosecutor adding "..and over the last 2 days, we have this and this and this charge with Trumps post court jabbering."

And the judge will give him yet another stern warning...and MAYBE hit him with a $1000 fine...but nothing more than that.

So as far as I can tell Pecker just buried Trump all by himself. He testified to all the elements of the crime and, crucially, directly tied it to Trump’s attempt to illegally influence the election.

Trump better hope he has some ace in the hole or a compromised juror because otherwise he’s fucked.

That's great news. I'm very nervous about Cohen who is a critical witness. Cohen always strikes me as a habitual liar (just like Trump) and I'm positive at least some of the jurors will get the same impression of him. Since the burden of proof is on the prosecution having a case hinge on Cohen alone is problematic.

Cohen has plenty of audio recordings that prove his testimony.

But in this case, he has a paper trail. They wouldn’t have used him as a witness only based on his word

Case hinging on Cohen alone would be problematic but not fatal. After all mob trials are frequently based on testimony from flipped mobsters, who aren’t exactly the best witnesses.

But yes, Pecker just threw Trump under the bus as far as I can tell.

I have seen a few videos / interviews with cohen lately. I think he will bury trump being a lawyer (knowning what to say) having had to spend some time in jail for him and all the crap trump said about him

And that's the "fly in the ointment." I have ZERO doubt that there's at least one Trump supporter on the jury who would refuse to vote to convict if there was video of Trump actually shooting someone on Fifth Ave. like he claimed once upon a time...and this? This is just a Biden-led Witch hunt...as we've all been told many times.

So if that’s the case then why didn’t it happen at his other trials? Was the Carroll jury just uniquely lucky?

This whole ‘Trump gets away with it’ fan fiction is weird. It’s possible, but not particularly likely.

Even better. You can take my word for it that is corroborating the people's case that the hush money and and cash and kill operations Pecker Cohen ans Trump engaged in was campaign and not family related.

I agree. Looking at the evidence and the logical implications to which it points I don't see Trump escaping justice this time, but I probably give more credit to the possibility of of a rogue juror on the panel than you do because I think I understand the nature of what you call weird. How would this perspective quality as wierd?:

Christianity in a capitalist nation where economic fears are magnified by a dog eat dog mentality creates profound inner conflict. On the one hand real Christianity is based on human caring and empathy, the overcoming of lusts and self aggrandizement and greed whereas all the real rewards offered to drive the economy are based on sex and hedonistic pleasure.

The result of this, of course, in fundamentalist Christian regions people grow up taught on the one hand to loath all the things that capitalism promises to the self interested. What you get as a result is people suffering from deep inner conflict. Their self respect is based on being good Christians while a part of themselves despised their religion because they want satisfactions of their capitalist inspired lusts. Now enter stage right, the Anti-Christ, the dream of the inner-conflicted. He is the way to eating the golden calf.

I would suggest the longing to worship at Trumps feet is profound as he offers ablution of sin by making it acceptable. For this very reason I think you will find the exorcist plot line to be so popular. Exorcising the devil is a bitch and profoundly relatable so long as it stays up on the screen.
