Any old school Rainbow 6 (original) players here?

I remember playing this game 10hrs+ a day for few years. It's been about 15 years.
My game tag was PUN/Kewbie, part of clan ADP
I miss my friends from R6, it was a lot of fun.

Oh man I loved this game. "Street" was a blast to play online. I remember having a LAN party and a bunch of us played Rainbow 6. The recon missions were a blast to play with other people. Each one of us would relay info to each other when "tangos" would be approaching and what not.

Yup, I was hardcore into R6. Was in CnB, we were ranked first in every ladder. I miss that game

I kicked ass at R6 and R6 2, but couldn't score a single kill the few hours I tried R6 3 online.

Loved that embassy level and being spawned right next to the opposing team.

I started off with Raven Shield (last before vegas), and utterly pwned at it. Joined a pistol clan at one point, which was great fun. I haven't looked at a R6 game since then as I've not liked what they did with Vegas. lost it's 'feel' to me.

Which year were you ranked? Were you part of MYM or Late ADP?
I remember AoD reigned for about a year or two (1998-99), HYK (1999-2000) then ADP reigned for about a year or two (1999-2001) then followed by MyM.

I loved how they distinguish your name with gold lettering when you are the tourney winner. It really stood out among thousands of players in the lobby.

Mplayer clans were always rated higher than MS ladder clans in those days.
Mplayer vs MS tourney was also won by Mplayer teams, which included players from AoD, HYK & ADP.

I loved Rainbow Six. I played each mission probably a dozen times, and could get through most of them without firing a shot. That said, I don't remember playing multiplayer on the original game and don't remember it even being multiplayer. I think I might remember playing coop? (My memory is notoriously bad however)

Loved R6 when it came out,, We alway had new LAN players show up and play for the first time, Its always a laugh watching Firefight players get fragged the instant they step in and sit out the rest of the game pissed off.
Not a game for the ADD mind.

I played the original Rainbow Six until the (near) bitter end. I was a "zoner", and when the zone folded up, I played on Gamespy. Now that's pretty dead, but some people still play on Voobly, which is a zone clone.

I am/was/will always be the king of strafe frags, and the ruler of the office area of the Oil Rig map.

If any of you ever feel the need to jump back into the past and play, send me a message. It's still a fun game after 12 years

Oh yea, miss the game play of R6, R6:RS, and R6:RVS. Miss the old MSN Zone too. I remember channel camping to get the best ones.

I played as gonz0, was in SMAK for the most part, also played with ABK (Asian Born Killaz, even though I'm not azn).

We were #1 for a long time in Raven Shield on Teamwarfare.com

I haven't been able to find a game that captures my attention like these games. Something about the tactical nature, quick death, one life, no healthpack, CQB, and small server sizes always appealed.

Ah Nostalgia!

Another unique thing about this game was the way clip/reloading worked.

How many bullets you had left in a clip mattered, not just the total number of bullets you had left.
