Bump for starland...I visit the homebase storefront here in DC quite often (off Braddock Road in VA), and they're a great bunch of guys and gals. They always seem to have the latest imports up and ready to play, and have a fairly decent selection of imported OSTs, let alone an awesome collection of rentable anime! Cheers...

Am I the only one that found by pushing the game you wanted to play down in the system and sliding another game in on top of it (it kept the game pushed slightly lower in the system) the game worked most of the time? The cat sacrafice worked to but it got messy...

pretty good deal if you want to play the old schools without emulation.

I have a working NES, but good find.

To OP: Cool post thanks. Ignore the trolls who think they are gods.

Nearly as often as I see 1 and 2 post people posting thier own site I see diamond and platinum members posting referral links in a post. So you can't tell just by the number of posts.

What--you guys didn't light candles, sacrifice your cats, and do The Dance For The Great NES Gods?
Pffft. Losers.

Yeah but you had to do it in the dark. And you had to use dull butterknives on the cat.

yeah probably more than that.

its hard to get one that actually works correctly. i mean like others have said you spent all this time blowing at them etc and that was back then. i mean some NESes are nearly 20 years old now. so a new one that works that can play a collection of games sells for a good amount.

It's not that hard. Also, you can replace the connector inside the NES like I did on mine. Only costs a couple bucks and it got rid of all or most of the blowing for me.

Nice find, will be picking one up.

I had been looking to get an original NES again, however I went through 3 bad "recertified" ones from Gamestop. I have been dying to play some Kid Icarus

I love that game, I have no idea why. Something about being turned into an eggplant, and that damned music, which still pops into my head after all these years. One of the first NES games I bought and finished.

Cool, didn't know they made these--looks like this same site has them, but for $10+shipping. Anyone know where they can be had for less money?

I got one of these on eBay and I'm very happy with it. It played some of the later/rare games that I have, so that's a good sign. It does feel a little cheap and light, but it's amazing how small it is.

CAUTION: There are two versions of this console floating around! Make sure you get the one you can plug original NES controllers into. The controllers that come with this are no good, you don't want to be stuck with them.

Sadly, if you're a newbie and post a deal not from some major retailer like amazon, dell, etc... you will get flamed.

Just beat Blaster Master today! Of course, I had to use an emulator and save states... man was that game hard!

There is alot of negativity on these boards. I would recommend that people who post 50+ posts a day unplug, get out of your parents basement, and see the sun once an awhile. It might help that pasty complexion most computer users have from the soft glow of their monitors being the only light they see. Not trying to be negative myself just trying to inform people that people are generally not nice here and alot of that bad behavior are coming from our 'senior' members. Wise up guys and set a good example for the new members.

I love how the first two reply posters havent even come back and edited their posts. At the very least it'd be a polite gesture.

I suppose some people just can't deal with admitting they are wrong.

I don't like Nintendo Controllers...

I used to get whooped with them for playing too much Contra.
