poking my head into this thread but would amd revive their arm project they shelved to focus on ryzen instead be suitable for a handheld console by the likes of nintendo in future?
was that not for the exynos soc? There was some talk about Nintendo showing some interest in Samsung's RDNA2 project but that has fizzled out. The rumors have pretty much centered about the Tegra Orin I mentioned earlier.
Link to the claim? Interesting. Ryujinx is usually the better of the two emulators at launch for any given game but yuzu usually ends up better in the long run.Amusingly, Yuzu claims they got TOTK working at 60 fps on emulation.
Saw this yesterday morning.Link to the claim? Interesting. Ryujinx is usually the better of the two emulators at launch for any given game but yuzu usually ends up better in the long run.
I hate to think what Nintendo will do...
Cause all switch games look like God of War, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk right?I hate to think what Nintendo will do...
By the way, shame on console/PC game developers needing so much horsepower for pretty graphics when all Nintendo needs is a Tegra chip.
TotK has a lot of performance issues.I hate to think what Nintendo will do...

Missing the point. Less is more. Better use of available resources. If only console/PC game designers would focus less on making the GPU cry and more on making the games look better through art direction and art style. Using beta GPU features like raytracing (we are still years away from full pathtracing available to everyone, including iGPUs) to make environments look realistic is kind of cheating and laziness.Cause all switch games look like God of War, Elden Ring, and Cyberpunk right?
Yeah I agree with this. I still think Mario Odyssey is one of the best games in the past decade and it's far from a graphics powerhouse. But the art style and graphics ARE fantastic, even though it's not on the level of Elden Ring or God of War.Missing the point. Less is more. Better use of available resources. Gaming shouldn't be THIS expensive and power hungry. More and more people are enjoying gaming, hence the rise of mobile gaming and handhelds like Switch and Steam Deck. Game developers don't need to focus on cutting edge 3D graphics demos with gameplay tagged on as an afterthought. Intelligent game design, story and gameplay should take precedence over maxing out GPU utilization for the sake of making GPU manufacturers and rich gamers happy.
It's the pesky youtubers. Give them 60fps and they will complain, it's not raytraced! Give them that and then they will complain it's not 60fps. Give them that by reducing graphics quality and they will complain about that too. Game studios want to avoid this sort of negative publicity and just focusing more on ticking all the checkboxes of modern console graphical features. But to me personally, with XSX and PS5, there should be no excuses to NOT have a 60fps mode on basically any game. But many games can't even hit 60fps constantly because they are so worried about stupid buzzwords like 4k, HDR, and raytracing.
Not surprising, it's the best game Nintendo has ever made IMO.Nintendo said that TOTK sold 10 million in three days.
I would definitely disagree with that. It's not even the best game on Switch. Not surprising, it's the best game Nintendo has ever made IMO.
So you didn't like Ocarina of Time or GTA Vice City? Or Bloodborne? And I remember you defending the PS5 version of Elden Ring that can't keep a steady framerate either.I think the game is getting inflated perfect 10 scores. It's a good game but definitely not 10/10. I don't get how a game with a crappy framerate can get a 10/10 in general. It detracts from the overall gameplay/feel. It dips really low on certain levels when you are using the ultra hand and definitely effects gameplay.
Not a fact at all. The crafting system is such an incredible addition that blows away magnesis and cryonis and so on from BOTW. Plus the underground is a lot of fun to play and a great way to hunt for shrines. Also the fact that it's basically BotW 1.5 is pretty "meh" to me.
I have probably 120 hours in it and haven't found anything in the game to be dull yet.I finished the Fire Temple yesterday and holy shit that is one of the worst levels I've ever played in a Zelda game. I was so happy when it was over.
I am enjoying it don't get me wrong, but it has it's frustrating things to it and can be pretty dull at times.
Then you have to deal with shader compilation as you play. Finally played the Fire Temple and I'll agree with @purbeast0 that the framerate is pretty awful there but it probably still beats shader compilation stutter on emulation.I'm not playing it on the switch because of the frame rate but I plan on starting it on my PC using the emulator. Trying to figure out the controls being mapped to an Xbox controller.
Original controls are horrible and unintuitive. I'm trying to set something up like this:
Right stick press = left stick press
X = right stick press
Left stick press = X
Swap jump and run buttons.
Now I just need to figure out dumping the game from my cartridge along with the update. Setting up homebrew on the switch took longer than expected.
