Pixel 8?

Has there been anything released about when the Pixel 8 is coming out and what specs it might have? My 6 is getting old and the reception has never boon good unless I'm in an area with a strong signal- whereas my friends iphone 14 has much better reception. I don't want an iphone but maybe the Samsung's will be a better choice...

Works great and has more specs than most recent releases for $700. Esim becomes an option along with WiFi 7. Also is dual SIM if you need two plans or numbers. And 80w charging.

It should come out in October with Android 14. It will have new camera hardware and the tensor G3 third generation chipset.

I'm in Montana and my sister Samsung and my pixel 7 pro both had signal where my sister is staying and my brother-in-law had no signal with his iPhone. We're all in the same account for T-Mobile. Also his Google offline maps glitched a lot here and we used offline maps a lot. So we have to use my phone

But without a doubt my pixel 7 pro is a big chunk better than the 6 series. I didn't have a six pro with all the issues everybody had but I definitely downplayed some issues in my head. The seven pro is just a pleasure to use.

I will try to trade in my seven pro and pre-order the eight pro.

I am looking forward to the 8. I am using a pixel 7 pro now but its a work phone. My personal phone is a galaxy s22 ultra, and I am anti samsung due to them screwing me over so I will be on team pixel once the 8 is out (assuming it's good).

Yes actually there was some info on the Tensor 3, and it is a noticeable upgrade in silicon quality from the processes used on the 1st and 2nd gen. Also specific to cooling

I wish there were a few other small upgrades but they are keeping the price at 899. Its' part of the deal. I could care less about a much faster chip, shit is snappy now, it's more about battery life, heat, storage, good screen, great cameras, better FPS even though the 7 pro has been good to me in that regard. And of course my favorite OS version. Apparently in benchmark land this will be 20% faster than the Tensor 2.

Prices did go up which is kind of lame, decided to go for a blue pro model though and got the free pixel watch. My wife bought me a pixel watch earlier this year so not sure which one I'll keep or sell.

yep that leak was right. Basically I paid 60 bucks more for a 256gb 8 pro vs the 7 pro. Considering inflation over the last few years, that's not a lot, but I am disappointed in a couple things, my optical sensor works very well, but still would have liked to see an ultrasonic FPS, and also the seonsor on the main camera, was hoping for the newest gen, the g2. Ultimately using the phone will determine value. The better screen, and it being flat, with the truly variable refresh rate is great. The front camera now autofocusing, which is crazy it didn't. Upgrade camera hardware. The video boost looks pretty cool too.

The pixel 8 price increases in Europe and Australia and overseas are nuts. I dunno what Google is thinking. $60 to me is fair considering it hasn't been raised in a few years. But overseas, they are now paying hundreds more for an iterative release. If it had some more proper upgrades like the new G2 main sensor vs G1, ultrasonic FPS, much improved battery life, then they can talk, but they are dreaming with those price increases. One of the good propositions of the Pixel series was the value. That's not the case anymore in any of those markets. Sure if they want very TOTL specs that would be ok but they are trying to charge near TOTL prices with not enough of a hardware bump.

That's what I got. I heard Best Buy is giving like 550 for the 7 pro and you still get the free watch 2 perk for the 8 pro. Free pixel buds pro with the regular 8. Can always flip them.

the 6 pro trade in for the 7 pro was crazy last year with a pre order bonus. I think I got 600.

Only issue would be activating it and waiting 60 days for it to unlock to use on tmobile. Considering this. I could probably sell the pixel 7 pro for 350-400.

They offered me $410 for my iPhone 11 Pro, seems like a good price for it at this point. Probably more than I would have gotten for my 6 pro that got stolen lol.

I’m really glad they got rid of the curved screen, so much nicer for putting a screen protector on.

Other than the bigger screen, is there any other significant difference between the 8 and 8 pro? I actually prefer the smaller size.

The pro can go down to 1Hz on the screen and has 4Gb more RAM, also the non pro doesn't have the telephoto lens. The screen on the pro is supposed to be brighter too.

the pro also has an upgraded 64mp ultrawide sensor whereas the 8 keeps the 12mp ultrawide.

for people who care, the backs of the 8 are glossy, the 8 pro are matte

If they offered a 8, 8 pro and 8 tough, I bet 90% of sales would be the tough. The iphone titanium is just marketing for snobs since they will all get cases put on them.

i think the same but I spend just enough time in online phone communities where some of these nerds are really into the finish. The one person I know who goes caseless, my brother in law, he could give two shits about any of the specs on the phone, just work well is all he cares about. my 8 pro will be going into a peak design everyday case from day 1.
