My internet wasn't working so I called my ISP. He rebooted my modem on his end and my connection started working while on the phone. Then he asked if I would be interested in hearing about adding their cell service. He said it would help him out so I reluctantly said yes and he transferred me to a sales person.

While he was trying to sell me I asked about upgrades to my internet. He said I could upgrade from 100Mbps to 200Mbps for the same price since my existing plan was an old grandfathered plan. So today I was able to double my internet speed. Had I not agreed to talk to the sale person about addition services I would have missed this opportunity.

Ran some errands today. While unloading the car, I found a french bread baguette kind of thing that I bought on the last shopping trip several weeks ago. Been hidden in the car since then, inside the unheated garage in sub freezing temps. Looks to be in fine shape. No green fuzzies.

You guys have Big Lots! ? Pretty cool store, kind of like a small scale KMart or Target. Went there today with a few coupons. Had a 20% off everything, $15 off some things and a 15% off everything. I wasn't sure they'd stack, but the clerk kept scanning them and the price kept dropping. Knocked close to 40% off the total.

BigLots is great. I used to get a lot of food from them. I still get some, but they don't have the big variety of cool stuff they used to have. Something happened during the pandemic, and they lost something.

I know some of you in other threads have said you get your prescription meds free. I don't, but am getting really close. Picked up 5 prescription refills at local grocery store pharmacy and the total cost for 3 months supply of the 5 was $12.07. That averages out to about 80 cents a month each. If I had filled them through the home delivery pharmacy provided in the plan we have, the cost would have been $65 for the 5. Don't know how grocery pharmacy can be cheaper than giant provider Express Scripts, but I'll take it.

Slap your Mama, I love riding my bike. Been a month cause it's effing cold and dark after work. Give me 95 degrees every bike day. Knees are bitching but eff them. I've got a great ortho. I hit about 400 exercise cals biking at the gym.

Just being in the city on Friday and today. Friday for a performance at Lincoln Center for my mom's B-Day. Today just for a date near Union Square. Just being able to have that amenity so close to me - I was appreciating all the bar and food options, appreciating how it's nice to be in a place where people often just look different - I'm not just talking about race or ethnicity or hearing so many languages spoken, but also just the way people dress. Even just going to the burbs for work or to visit friends/family, you go to a grocery store there and everything is very monotonous. I really appreciated the little things on those excursions, especially today.

We had a racoon move into the porch roof, under the trim. Real pain in the ass, going up on the roof and driving the dog crazy. New guy at work has a Havahart type trap that I borrowed. Only took two days to catch him. I relocated the little fvcker at a park with a huge wooded area.

My win today is I managed to get some roxul insulation. That stuff is hard to get now, there's some kind of shortage. Not cheap though, $90 per bundle. I'm pretty sure it used to be like $60.

From first world problem
Woke up feeling good this morning for a Monday, ready to go make some money, but then car wouldn't start. Had to get it towed to get a new starter. Almost 150K miles on a 2006 Honda.

Was trying to find a trustworthy and good local mechanic since mine is about 10 miles away, ended up chatting with this guy that owns a small business near me I've chatted with before and he helped jump me once too. He tells a me a solid spot walking distance from my place, where he brings all his own cars, and finds me a cool ass tow truck driver, towed me there for 70 bucks. New starter going on today. Plus the small business dude is thinking of selling his small building. Gonna try to get him a good price. So I found a reliable mechanic right by my place, and a potential client. Still had to get a new starter and miss a lot of work today, but this was the reverse part of it!

You really didn't want to be on a murder case anyway. A coworker of mine was on the jury for one that had it all, left her scarred for life.
Heck, no. 2 years of grand jury was enough and we were just told what the evidence was.

The one thing I really wouldn't want to be on a jury for is a pedophilia case. So far I've never gotten a summons. Oh damn....

Last Friday, wife ....took.... me to Rhonda Vincent and the Rage. Bluegrass/country aren't my thing but...they were very talented. She pointed out that it's just talent...no electronics, other manipulations...just pure. She's right.

And it counts as our Valentines Date. WIN, Bitches.

I finally enclosed my server room and it's incredible how much difference it makes for sound now. I've only wanted to do this for like 15 years since I moved in... finally did it lol. I'm not even 100% done since I just have one side drywalled, and plan to insulate and drywall other side, but wow it's incredible the difference already. Always satisfying to finally see a project coming to fruition.

Got a 27 inch Dell monitor with VA panel at work. Wasn't expecting it to be so BIG. Kinda regretting that it's only Full HD. But then the local shop where we make our office purchases had only this one with a VA panel and contrast ratio is important to me. I would say 50% first world problem and 50% reverse first world problem.

Now if only there was a way to set DPI scaling below 100% with a utility without messing with the registry. I want to see if a lower DPI would help me fit more information on the screen.

I guess free is free, but yeah given that size 4k would be better. I have 2x 28" 4k at home and it's great. At work we have 3x 4k and 1x HD but I would love if it was just 4x 4k. If my HD one dies I'll try to convince my boss to get me a 4K.

I've also joked about just getting us 2 50" 8k TVs as our monitors, but for some reason they won't go for that.
