They'll have to sell whatever they grow on their farmlands. Who do you think they'll sell to? To other farmers from other Red states who are also looking to sell what they grow too? You also forget that both CA and IL (Blue states) have farmlands and are among top food producing US states.

And it's very likely the farmers in CA and IL are conservatives. What's stopping them from fleeing? Who runs their farms then? Or what if they refuse to sell? Or worse yet, what it they torch their farms as an act of defiance/sabotage before they go?

How do CA and IL feed the entirety of the blue states? How do they get this food to NY, for example, if the red states block commerce or simply seize the goods? So you're looking at armed conflict at a minimum. And this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the logistics involved to simply FEED people. What about water? Energy? Medicine?

Both red and blue states would turn into 3rd world hellholes overnight.

He's right though. I grew up in Central IL and now live in the Chicago Suburbs. IL south of I-80 already wants to break away from "Chicago". Give them a choice and they'll become part of MO or IN.

Remember Mary "Hitler was right on one thing" Miller? Yeah, she's from IL.

Huh? I'm not the one advocating for this.

But the people saying "Let red states leave, we'll be fine" aren't thinking it through.

TBH not even sure why MTG would float this idea. At the rate they are taking over the education system, in 20 years nobody will have even ever heard of liberalism. They have been, and are continuing to win the long game while we are distracted with stupid tweets.

So then may I assume your "long game" frame of reference is that the Republicans will seize the gov't and force the liberal states to finance what would then be a conservative run dictatorship?

Jus' ask'in.

There's China's and Putin's wet dream right there!!!

They'd have a smile from ear to ear!

But as we've learned from history.. no castle is strong enough if it has a traitor within!

No, at the rate they are taking over and controlling education, liberalism will simply cease to exist. They don't need to take anything by force. They will control all ideas.

The opposite holds true too. There are millions of liberals living in red state cities. Even if they wanted to remain in the US, where would they work? Where would the red framers rushing to red states work? Those farms already have farmers.

You all laugh, but this has happened time and time again throughout human history.

Chip away at rights. Then take big chunks. Dehumanize.

If you don't have the right to vote, what's stopping them from doing far worse?

Will somebody PLEASE get this silly wise and beautiful woman laid so she'll shut up?

(And no, I'm totally not gonna do it, but I know there are some incels out there willing to take one (or ten) for the team.)

Look she is a disgusting human and must be opposed. But her views are not mainstream either. Stop letting her live in your head all the time.

Hell yeah.

Removing democracy one day at a time.

USA! USA! USA!
the sad part is that they think in 5 years those the move from blue states will change their views but more likely is they will create resentment and militants.

Nobody wins. Red states will control a lot of the food/farmlands and could starve many blue states. I suppose blue states could simply buy what they need elsewhere, but the prices passed onto citizens would be insanity. Not to mention what it would do to everyone's taxes.

Only similar option would be to go all in on federalism.

Meh. Read up pants shitter.

A recent report on the state of origin of USDA Foods found that USDA Foods procures food from more than three-quarters of all states. California, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Illinois are the five states with the highest dollar amounts of USDA Foods purchases. A number of items available through USDA Foods are sourced solely from one state. For example, 100 percent of the strawberries purchased by USDA Foods in FY2014 came from the state of California. During this time, California schools received approximately 3.3 million pounds of this locally produced product through the USDA Foods program. All of the wild blueberries came from Maine and all the catfish were purchased from Mississippi.

Most of flyover states aren't generating stuff for food. It's more commercial in nature. Biggest money earners all have Democratic Govs.

I give her(?) five whole minutes holding that cannon at port like she(?) is whereupon that smile will be gone and she'll be dragging it through the streets wishing she had a wheelbarrow to haul it from thereon in.
