Anyone on the political left ought to be very wary of being seduced by the glamour and fame of Hollywood types or celebs in general. Wealth and power can corrupt almost anyone. And the left does seem as prone as anyone to forget the idea that people are all of equal value, having the same tendency to be overawed by the rich and famous as everyone else (just they worship different types of celeb to the right).

Can't disagree with that, though that I think it's the existence of power imbalances that's the problem, as people will always be morally flawed, so need to be saved from themselves by not being given the power to become abusive.
And I've seen plenty of leftists become starry-eyed and uncritical when someone with a bit of glamour and status seems to side with them (just one example, Naomi Wolf's hagiographic articles about Madonna).
