I'd still choose quest 3 over a quest 2 for pcvr and also the 3 has the newer pancake lenses with better resolution and fov but you still need a decent GPU to use it. Not sure of the specs about psvr 2 but I own a quest pro which I only use for flight training and if it can compete with that at the level of PC games, it would be interesting..I think the psvr2 has eye tracking but I could be mistaken.
Quest 3 is a $500 investment though. Quest 2 at $225 is low enough that you could dip your toes in to see if VR is appealing at all or just something that would go into the drawer after an hour of use.

That is true but you could buy either headset from Amazon or some retailer with a return policy to try it out. I know several people who did that with the quest 3 and they currently own a Pro, just to see if the difference was worth it.

I ended up going physical with Rebirth. I think this is the first game I've ever preordered... technically of course since it's tomorrow.

It's such a chonker too and the standard PS5 drive doesn't have that much space.

Just got FFVII Rebirth in time to get Intergrade free too (deal ends at midnight EST). Ugh should have bought it earlier in the day since it's a 150GB download though. Crap.

As I understand it this remake was supposed to be in 3 releases...? So stupid question, does this 2nd release if I purchase include the 1st or I need to run that down separately?
Looks like I would need to purchase the "Remake" separately. Fuck that's confusing. There's Remake, Reunion and now Rebirth and Reunion isn't part of this remake. Great marketing job Square.

Damn if you would have bought the Rebirth Twin Pack yesterday on PSN you would get Remake (eg Part 1 eg Intergrade) for free. The second the game launched that twin pack went from $70 to $100 though.

Well I guess that means I'll just have to wait until the last one is released in 2030 and get the trilogy pack on ps6.

You can get the PS4 version of FFVII Remake and it has a free PS5 upgrade patch. It doesn't include the Yuffie DLC, which I bought and then never played lol. The base game is great though, which is why I bought Rebirth full price at launch.

So despite the "Bonuses" thing saying that I would be able to skip the Nibelheim section, it appears that won't be the case. Guess I will just have to play Chapter 1 again and just skip the cutscenes.

Ah, so the skip is further in the chapter.

I played a couple rounds of the card game... don't quite get it so far. But it's interesting enough that I want to play more of it later.

Rise of the Ronin preview impressions from some folks seems like it's a pretty mediocre game. World looks flat, combat is very basic and basically one button will do the combo for you. Looks very dated for a PS5 exclusive. Ghosts of Tshushima looked beautiful even though the story and repetitive side objectives were there.

Was looking forward to it but looks like I'll just be getting dragons dogma 2 on PC instead.

Ouch. If that's a bust the rest of the year looks pretty bad for Playstation. Stellar Blade lost me on the last preview. Still lots of cool stuff coming this year like Shadow of the Erdtree, Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance, Hellblade 2, and Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis, but it's all either multiplat or Microsoft (eg Hellblade 2) so stuff I'll get on PC instead of PS5. Though I liked what I saw from the last Rise of the Ronin trailer.

This is the impression video I was talking about. I follow this guy on YouTube since he got me into nioh, nioh 2, elden ring and other soul type games. It was surprising to see his reaction to Rise of Ronin since I think he was expecting it to be more like a refined Nioh 3 being that Ronin is made by the same dev team.

I guess they are just trying to appeal to a larger crowd with this title. But I can't help but notice how dated it looks for a PS5 exclusive and also compared to other titles that have been before it.

Looks like Wo-Long which they released last year (decent game, story was badly told). BTW, how big is Team Ninja that they can release 2 games this close to each other?

For all we know, it was meant to be released on PS4 just before the PS5 launched but got stuck in development hell and then they just remastered it slightly to release it on PS5.

I think that it's possible because both games are in a Japanesse style so they didn't have to waste much time designing the lanscapes, but just rebuild them, and also the movements seem somtimes similar to their old games (sometimes nioh very much).

That Ronin game was in development since 2015 that is a long time to be in development hell and then seemingly having missed being released on PS4. Hopefully it turns out alright but by the looks of it, doesn't scream exclusive.

Ouch, here are the alleged specs of the PS5 Pro. Only a 10% CPU frequency increase and 45% GPU increase. Developers are really going to have to take advantage of the Ray Tracing features for it to be worth it I think.

I'm glad I dodged this bullet at launch and didn't fall for FOMO.

Turns out it was a solution in search of a problem. Everyone can have their own opinion, but I think it needed like 3 killer games and at least another ~10 AA type titles to be worth its existence. I don't think its gotten a killer title yet?

Sort of old news. I think it comes down to price, like it typically does, but for me I want the exclusive titles running as well as possible and this is likely a spec bump that will last for at least 3 years. Depending on how well it can run its upscaler that will probably require the Pro to run, the difference in titles could be very noticeable. There are plenty of titles just scraping by that more frames would do wonders for, so there is that too. In any case, it exists for the dedicated to spend their money on and it will certainly do better than PS VR 2

Yeah there is simply nothing close to a "system seller" for it and they really have nothing lined up that is as well.

I didn't get PSVR until well in it's life time, but still at that time there were still new killer apps coming out like Astrobot, Beat Saber, Moss, etc. Not to mention there were so many already AAA games out for it like RE7, Farpoint, and a bunch of other little indie games.

There is literally nothing like this on PSVR2 and it's pretty sad and pathetic. I was really excited for it and preordered it the minute it was available to preorder. But then like a week before launch, and seeing nothing was announced that I cared about, I canceled my preorder.

Probably only makes sense for people with limited space who can't have a huge TV in their room so the headset may make up somewhat for that. But on the original PS VR, the virtual screen isn't as close to the eyes as I would like it.
I have never and have no interest in playing normal PS5 games on a headset in "flat" mode. My 10 foot screen I game on is plenty big lol.

If I were to get one, it would be to play VR games.
