It's a shame because the game and gameplay thus far have been very good outside of the technical issues.

I started playing it and it runs perfectly well for me (100-120fps, or 70-80 without scaling). Not sure if there was a day-0 patch or something.

I am not a fan of Star Wars but the 1st game was kinda fun. I doubt i'll play Survivor, maybe when it gets to $9.99 or less

I enjoyed the first one. I will definitely pick this up a little down the line. I like the combat I have seen, and the added Storm Trooper dismemberment makes the lightsaber seem more substantial.

I'm definitely button mashing the combat, I need to do the introduction a few more times! The combat looks fantastic, and your climbing sections are great. Combat and "platforming" are so fluid!

Said no Nvidia owner

I dig the combat system in the first one, and this looks to have added some cool animations. Have quite a backlog of games to get through first, and it will run better and cost less by the time I buy it.

I am a sucker for Star Wars games, having grown up on the franchise. The sound effects and music alone give me a nerdgasm. Episode IV made my little brain explode back in '77, and it never recovered.

Game totally doesn't work with M+KB. You can't even navigate the menus properly with it.
Guess I'll just have to learn that XBox controller, haptics are nice on it anyway.

Not sure if you played the Jedi Knight games but the dismemberment was more accurate in those games and the collision detection of the saber hitting the body of the stormtroopers was far more accurate. The gameplay videos I've seen so far, make me wonder how the heck stormtrooper armor can survive a lightsaber hitting it. Sabers cut through ANYTHING, isn't that what we have been led to believe over several decades of Star Wars? Or maybe they created special kiddie sabers specially for this game

Theres a lot more going on in the fighting in this than in Jedi Knight. A lot more going on and a lot more swearing!

Is it possible to boomerang the dual saber like in Jedi Knight? Used to have a lot of fun doing that. Stormtrooper few feet away, say hello to my lightsaber. Before he can reply, his head is on the floor!

Yes, you can do that.

The game is definitely designed for a controller, which is somewhat true with all third person melee games. I'm not big into these types of games but liked Fallen Order a lot, and also liked the Jedi Knight games back in the day (which had much better dismembered enemies).

The framerate starts at 120 and falls to 90 after a while for me, with reduced GPU usage. Feels like a memory leak, but it's quite playable even with RT.

Its well worth a go now TBH. As long as you aren’t expecting FPS in the hundreds it runs fine (sans hitching but that’s mostly in cutscenes).
I can't remember the last game I played right after release. My backlog keeps me entertained. I'll buy this one at 20% or less of the $70 they want now. It'll be patched and my hardware will be upgraded.

Have yet to play the one that came out a few years ago.

I'm not one to have FOMO on game releases as many apparently do. Quite the opposite. I avoid a rush to any new release.

For all my "old man shouts at clouds" posts about M+KB not working for this I totally get why they have done it. It just wouldnt work on a M+KB.
they could have made the menus work with a mouse though!

RT doesnt seem to be a massive hit to performance in this game. VRAM does creep up, but tbh, I'd rather they used the VRAM than letting it sit there. But maybe they should compile a few more shaders at the beginning like TLOU.

*looks at signature* Ah yes, I can see you're the gamer on a budget!

I get your point though. I have a lot to catch up on but this is STAR WARS!!!!
I can be extremely frugal in many parts of my life. Always seek out Kroger items with Woohoo stickers on them when grocery shopping. Buy clearance summer clothes in the Winter. Winter in the Summer. Haven't bought new shoes in three years. One pair has splits on them that I fixed up with shoe glue. Things like that.

Then I go and splurge on a $150K car and top of the line PC parts.

Spend wisely and on whats important to you! No point spending on stuff you dont care about I guess!
