Reported.

That statement is false. You directly quoted my percentage and said I was wrong.

What did you clarify exactly? That my original percentage was 1.77% out, and only if we're extremely generous with your flawed list?
Oh, please. There was nothing confrontational in my post. Go ahead, read it. It wasn't there to 'show you'; it was written neutrally. You went and made it a spat, because two people can't have a civil discussion on the internet.

So yes, if you're going to act puerile, I'm going to call you out on it. And I'll do it again. Grow up.

Just be honest and tell us you had no idea how many Steam games there actually were. Practice what you preach and demonstrate your "maturity" to us.

Capcom have quietly patched the performance issues after this debacle. Without the crack I'm sure Capcom would have left the game in that sorry state and not give a shit.

Tomb Raider 2013 now DRM-free on GOG Along with Underworld, Legend and Anniversary, at deep discounts.

They're also hinting more titles might come, so hopefully we'll finally be rid of the Denuvo cancer that plagues the newest two.

And we have another security flaw with Razer Synapse, brought to you by the same people who decided mice/keyboards need an internet connection:

"What's the big deal with mandatory client software? It just takes 5 minutes to setup a free throwaway account!", heh.

That is some super lazy coding right there. We should also take a hard look at Microsoft for letting this through their driver distribution system.

Denuvo has been removed from NieR Replicant and Tomb Raider Shadow/Rise. Once again we have proof Denuvo impacts performance for legitimate customers: https://www.dsogaming.com/news/shadow-of-the-tomb-raider-runs-noticeably-faster-without-denuvo/

The problem with the Tomb Raider patches is some kind of new Epic Store integration which stops the game from launching without EGS authentication. The patches have been pulled so I'm hoping it's some kind of moronic mistake.

The GOG version of TR2013 is unaffected by these shenanigans, and with Denuvo removed from the other two, it's more likely they'll end up there too.

"Mandatory launchers are no big deal! I have a 32GB system and can easily have ten running at once!" - The Internet Forums

I predicted this a few pages back, and it's only a matter of time before they tier even further by reducing image quality, mouse polling, etc.

All because they've successful redefined the paradigm of "you have no rights and you'll continue to pay us to have no rights" to one word: "streaming".

Sounds like a Europe Privacy law & dude not checking his spam folder issue but yeah it sucks and in this case it may have actually been a good thing.
It was due to GDPR. Ubisoft was (apparently) following the law.
Nope, the law is here:

It says the user ("data subject") has the right to request deletion, not that Ubisoft ("controller") can arbitrarily decide to delete something someone paid for.

I found a good video about SecuROM:

Speaking of locked discs, I recently re-imported Korn's See You On the Other Side into my iTunes library. This album uses Copy Control: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copy_Control

Back in the day the only way to play it on PCs was to run the Windows executable on the disc. Modern versions of Windows quite rightly block it as malware excrement, and iTunes can't even play the CD normally.

iTunes can rip it though, so I burned two DVD-Rs of the files in ALAC format for archival purposes, so I don't run the risk of not being able to read the disc in the future. Meanwhile the pirates using ripped MP3s of the album never had any issues.

Bethesda launcher is shutting down, moving to Steam:

One less garbage launcher in existence, but unfortunately you'll still need to use Bethesda.net accounts for other "services" like mods.

Now the question is, how long until MS forces the games into app store exclusives? Time will tell.

Never? Microsoft likes Steam. They're putting all their games there.

Because Microsoft is changing the executable model with TPM, windows 10 and windows 11 are MS moving to put denvuo like drm inside game exe's going forward. TPM was always about killing piracy and enforcing software licenses to engage in extortionate business practices.

See here (article from 2001)

The next 20 years of gaming is going to be interesting, I'm calling it now: The PC will become a clsoed platform because the average gamer and pc user is too oblivious he's been robbed for 23+ years since the advent of stolen rpg's in the 90's (mmo's are just RPG's rebranded with removed networking code dumped into a seperate exe).

We had a guy in here who used to say the same erroneous BS about MMORPGs. How lovely to have a new reg spewing the same nonsense.

Or maybe you can't see that steam and mmo's are just client server C++ apps and we already had limitless mulitplayer games with quake 2. Who am I going to believe, john carmack or someone who wouldn't pass basic computer science 101?

John carmack "No limit to the # of players in a multiplayer world".

So if we have a limitless massively multiplayer game like quake 2, wouldn't that mean the people who bought ultima online and everquest were duped? Because ANY game can be made in a game engine, we could use quake 2 to clone your favorite "MMO's" and then turn them back into games that allow local multiplayer.

You idiots never figured out why dedicated servers and level editors disappeared. "MMO's" are just PC games with fraudulently coded networking to dupe your asses out of game ownership. That's why we got steam in 2003.

Tell me why an Unreal engine First person shooter (transformers FoC) using the same engine as unreal 2004, needs to have its multiplayer living in some exe outside the game executable?

Or is that a political statement by the game industry that the average PC user is irrational and blind to the fact he's been robbing himself?

It is clear you have an agenda. Coming straight out the gate with personal attacks is a time tested and proven method of winning arguments online. Good job!

If you actually believe any of that tripe you've written, you're the one who wouldn't pass CS101.
