Huh so every dude here not trimming their pubes must love huge bushes on women too. Or are hypocrites.

Woah that's a big generator. That's more power than my entire hydro service. I have 100 amp, which is 24kw. What are you running during power outages?

Been thinking of getting a small standby for my shed's solar setup, the idea would be if power goes out I can run stuff off the solar inverter which already has a feed to the house, if that battery gets low, the generator would kick on to give it a top up charge. We seem to get more power outages in my area now, mostly in summer, and they're usually at night.

Everything. Zero compromise lol.

Bro in law ran his finger through the table saw last Sun. Doc sewed it back on minus 1/8" for the saw tax.
I did a rip cut into my index finger a year or so back. Not as painful as one would think, though I did miss the bone. Really surprising though.

I have a pic if anyone is interested.

Report back your thoughts on the battery trim nailer. I've got a couple air tools I was thinking of replacing with battery powered. I don't use them often so it might not worth spending anything on.
Loved using it and it certainly did the job. I use their battery powered impact gun regularly and based on that had no worries at all about it being powerful enough. It was expensive but tools to DIY correctly I’ll always buy without a second thought because buying new fun toys is way cheaper than hiring someone.

Battery powered nailers are really convenient. You never realize how much of a pain in the ass a hose is until it's gone. That said, for occasional use they really aren't worth the added cost.

Purchased some new summer drip for going out. My wife and I decided that this year we don't want to spend the spring and summer sitting around the house or just working in the gardens. We want to go out and do things together so I needed to update.

I headed over to Tommy Bahama and picked out a few things.

A flight to the desert in December to visit family and a whole bunch of nonalcoholic beer from Athletic. We like regular beer too, but it's nice to have something nonalcoholic during the week to help protect the liver and the waistline.

Picking up my bike today. I don't have anything to mount the bike in, was planning on just throwing it in the truck bed and calling it good. Shop guy will probably cringe when he sees me throwing it back there. I do need to get a lock though. Prob get one of those u-shaped ones with the tube at the ends.

I think as kids we get used to the idea that our bikes are indestructible. But I'm guessing you got something a little upscale from a banana seat with ape-hanger handlebars. Racing bikes and even hybrid adult bikes are more delicate. It doesn't take much to throw a wheel out of alignment for example.

If you already know all of this, apologies.

Yea I found out about 20 years ago when I had a road bike. Rode it in today, felt very good. Took me 7 minutes to get to work, and that was mostly just messing around with the gearing trying to find a comfortable groove. If only our town would fix the roads lol

Oh yes this. When I used to road bike some of the roads were absolutely terrible. One day something came flying off my bike and went into pretty dense wooded area. Thankfully, when I got home, it was only a cover plate on the rear derailleur - was pretty nervous on the ride home.

Kryptonite Evo 4 (the orange capped one) or the New York (yellow capped) are good ones to look at from a security perspective. Try to get one that leaves as little space as possible when you lock up the bike. And if you don't want to be removing your front wheel or carrying an extra chain/cable, consider replacing the quick release with a locking skewer.

Also, coat the top tube with a neurotoxin /jk

Screw that. Buy a gravel bike and expect it to fail? I don't rides trails anymore but if I can't ride it like I stole it ....useless. My last 3, since 1993, the bottom bracket failed. Hmm, 12K miles of my 215lbs stepping on you...understandable. New Giant 1 year ago....my knees... hang on, boys, til I'm 70.

1970 banana yellow seat with monkey bars.... I was the Bomb.

got the Logi G915 TKL keyboard after the most recent keyboard thread. Put up the full G915 keyboard for sale. Cat has gotten acclimated. I like this a lot better than the full keyboard. Got a wireless number pad as well. It will take some muscle memory adjustments but I think this will work out just fine.

Lenovo ThinkCentre M910q to replace the Raspberry PI I currently use for watching shows or Youtube on the TV. It's been acting super glitchy lately and it's always been kinda slow. Recently I started constantly getting the "aww snap" error in Jellyfin and then have to restart the browser, always takes several tries to finally get something to play.

So hopefully this solves the issue. Going to put Linux on it. It's crazy how cheap these mini desktops are, it's not really that much more than a RPI once you factor in the need to buy a power adapter, case, and SD card for one. This came up to $180 total after shipping and taxes.

I eventually want to buy like a dozen of them to build a Proxmox cluster. Ebay is flooded with them and they're super cheap. But for now I'm really in money saving mode after that furnace and water heater so just bought 1 for now because the TV situation with the browser crashing was getting annoying.

I need a new computer, but that can wait and my current system with 3450s is still humming along, except for the busted NIC port and two dead USB ports on the MB.. but will update it next year so it will be windoz 11 compatible.

So for this year's bday present i bought two Intersessors. An imperial Fists and a Salamanders.

For the rest of us....

PORT-A-WRAPS are compact rope friction devices designed for lowering heavy objects from height in a controlled and predictable manner. The Buck Port-a-Wrap has been widely popular among the modern-day arborist; old-school arborists would lower heavy wood by wrapping the lines around nearby trees causing damage to trees and often causing accidents.
