1200w 48v inverter. Another building block for my server rack power upgrade.

This is a very temporary setup, I need to buy some #2 cable and double hole crimp lugs and run everything properly, but I have it connected to my 48v rectifier and it works. Waiting for some connectors to come in for my temporary battery bank as well which is just going to be 4x 7.2ah gel cells. After this I'll basically have myself a dual conversion UPS. Long term goal is to run the whole rack on this setup and have like 12+ hours of run time with golf cart batteries. For the time being though it will serve as a power conditioner, more than anything, since it will only have a few minutes of run time and the existing UPS will plug into it.

Very long term goal will be to get 2 more of those inverters but the 2200w versions. One for each PDU. This 1200 one will be for my workstations, TV and other misc stuff around the house that is currently on it's own UPS. Goal is to eliminate individual UPSes and run everything off this.

A narrow kerf bar & chain for my small top handle saw, and a PrisonBlues hickory shirt. I also got 50 cans of snus(not pictured). A brand I like got delisted, and I wanted one last batch to stave off the inevitable.

I love trees! I only do what people ask. If it isn't me, it'll be someone else. A lot of what I do is removing dead stuff. I climbed this weekend for the first time in awhile(doing a high climb anyway). Helped a friend I sometimes work with deadwood a beech.

Just ordered a bike to ride to work:

One of the cheapest models they had, and i needed something that'll get me through some rough roads and a canal bank to get to work and back. Looking forward to picking it up. Should be ready in 2 weeks.

Wife's monitor was dying, so I gave her my old 27" monitor and bought an Alienware AW3423DWF:

WQHD OLED. Wanted to spend less than $600 on a gaming monitor. Did that with a VA panel and it was awful. Went with this way over budget for $780. Regret the price a bit, but it looks absolutely awesome, especially in games!

I bought a small portable generator a couple years ago. It was just for the bare minimum to take care of the sump pump and fridge. That of course means I haven't had to use it, even though I needed it several times previously. I've used it a couple times to trim the bushes at the corner of the property with my hedge trimmers. Saves me the hassle of joining cords, and lets me inspect for proper operation.

I'm thinking of getting one of those really portable solar panel charged battery generator things. There's too many on the market right now and reviews are all over the place.

I’ve strongly considered adding 10 kWh or so of battery backup to my solar array. Last thing I need is another small engine to worry about. So far I haven’t gone for it because power rarely goes out here and I’m in the same grid neighborhood as a local hospital. It always seems to come back really fast.

Sump pump already has a secondary pump hooked up to a big old lead acid battery so nothing too catastrophic would happen during an extended outage.

26kW standby generator for the new house. Bring on hurricane season.

Woah that's a big generator. That's more power than my entire hydro service. I have 100 amp, which is 24kw. What are you running during power outages?

Been thinking of getting a small standby for my shed's solar setup, the idea would be if power goes out I can run stuff off the solar inverter which already has a feed to the house, if that battery gets low, the generator would kick on to give it a top up charge. We seem to get more power outages in my area now, mostly in summer, and they're usually at night.

Yeah, the exchange rate isn't great.

@sdifox - What did you have done and what constitutes "appliances?"
All major appliances, so range, range hood, dish washer, fridge, washer and dryer. If I redo 800sqft of tiles it's another 20k

Two full bathroom do over, one powder room do over, take down one room divider in the basement and repaint whole house.

Starting next month.

After that is pool rebuild. Then car.

Nice! I like my Rockhopper with the street slicks. It is handy for rough city potholed roads and I can lock the front forks to get rid of bounce. Specialized is well put together gear.
