I Played R6 pretty much religiously from 98-01 (on mplayer of course).....most fun FPS I've ever played. College roommate got it and got me hooked. He ended up joining AoD (Chico), but I never bothered with joining a clan as we had 5 or 6 people from our dorm floor that would routinely play together. My favorite maps were probably Mint, Hacienda, and Estate.

Hey guys i played r6 religously back in the day lol. I barely missed out on mplayer, but i was on zone till the very end. I was apart of many clans...best known from 'Clan 187' with Jester which is my cousin. I remember some of you guys. Me and Jester(Derek) visited voobly lastnight and had a match on the 1.04 patch lol. We all should try to get it going again! I miss the game and the community, best online gaming experience I ever had. BTW 'Athlete's Village and Oil Rig' were the best maps^^ huk! Imma try to name some old clans: Sr6, OTN, UTA, DAWGS, RoC, MyM, SaP, MIN, HYK....the list goes on. Now some old players: Creptic, Jester-OTN, MadFlava, Recoil, McCoy, xzycer, Prohomie, amdTaz, Kaisersoze, Shrapnel, Fossil, Nautica, and the list goes on....

after see this post I had to register for the site.. I remember you.. I went by sr6 creptic.. and oh those were the days... I never really got into games but I was hooked on the original rainbowsix.. I actually stumbled across this post trying to see if it will work on Win7.. never heard of voobly; however, I am going to check it out tonight.. ill try to snag my old zone name..

The original R6 was great.. not only the gameplay but the community - zone that is.. I only ventured to Mplayer for the tournaments. I do miss playing though .. hopefully I can get it to work. If you still play shoot me a message with your screen name.

Yep, I was a student at GA Tech from 98-02 and we played it religiously. But I think we played more CS when it came out and stopped with R6.

I'm [ADP]McDeath from Ottawa (now Toronto), real name Eric. I just so happened to be bored to death at work just now clicking on the "Random article" button on Wikipedia, and of all things I stumbled on the page for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (the book). One thing led to another, and next thing you know I'm googling my old handle and I find this page!

I google for old R6 information one every year or so (there is very little info surviving today). I was very surprised to find this forum and see some familiar names. I played R6 competitively from 1999-2001, mostly on the zone. I was in CoRE, GHOST, and TDS, either under the handles Doc or Dave. I remember McD from the TDS days when we hit #1 on the zone ladder. I was also in a old, casual version of AoD on mplayer sometime around 2001.

R6 was a great game, had a level of strategic depth that is seemingly lacking in most games today. It's pretty funny, because it was pretty obvious that the developers just threw together the multiplayer aspect of the game without much thought. I played wow pretty seriously before the first expansion came out, but since then I haven't really played any online games aside from the occasional round of TF2. If anyone remembers me, feel free to get in touch via email.

I remember playing against CoRE all the time on zone.

That's funny cus this guy I was friends with IRL back in 1998 named Sr6_Cryptic founded the clan with me and a few others, Sr6 and GHOST were the top clans then. I find it hilarious his name is so well known you would copy it or lie about it. Unless your name is Brian and you're from MD, and you forgot how you used to spell your name on R6, then give me a fuckin call sometime lets grab a drink.

MC, I'll be droppin you a line. You live in Tdot now? We need to hook up. Pun, we actually talked on MSN a short while ago. Shocked the shit outa me when you just msged me out of no where. Took me a sec to realize who you were.

*sigh*... I miss the good ol' R6 days. Lots of good times and memories.

Memories is all it should be. I tried this "Voobly" and the only people that still play are the people who were dicks back in the day (and they're still dicks now). I guess they never got good at anything else...

Hey guys, Stryker here! Strike_down/Strikedown were also some of my names.

Remember playing with some of you such as Thallis and McDeath. Was in some regular clans which I don't remember very well at first and had a short time in Mfx as well. Also remember playing with some aod guys just randomly. Was a youngster back then and the first FPS that I played high in the ladders. I remember playing with people named: Viper, V-girl, R0adkill and M4rksman. sweet to relive the memories. At the moment not playing many games, just a bit of CoD4 and WoW. Last time i logged on was a few years ago where i met some old players who had a 'v' before their names as a 'veteran of r6'. Also did that then ^^

I was in ]X[ right when it went from clan to club. So I was able to keep the tag at the end of my name and my actual clan at the beginning. I can't remember a lot of the names, but the guy that did the website did some cool flash stuff and made logos for each of us in the club at the time, when there was like 7 of us.

Good old times.

I also find it funny this thread brings in people to make an account and a post or two and thats it hahaha.

Was also in TDR at the end. I believe as Silent Bob. But originally started f2b with Maverick. If you where in TDR, I assume you remember Maverick. Anyway we downloaded it and played some 1v1 the other night and he hosted me like he always did when he was on that damn Rolla T3 connection.

So many names from the good ole days! Me and Kain and a few others started f2b way back when, when I started in college. Later I started TDR (Twisted Digital Reality in that ladder capture that someone posted, hilarious!) and we had SO many ADP guys, man that was fun! Tkal, Nookie, Kain, and so many others on here that I played tons of r6 with. I still play tons of games, if anyone ever wants to catch up:

Does anyone remember the clan that made the flash with them humping on AV and the ninja turtle's theme in the background. That brings back so many memories.
