Discussion Intel current and future Lakes & Rapids thread

A test for when we get frequency control over the CPU. Sub-binning notwithstanding (a detail we've noted in smartphone reviews). Not relevant to a discussion about process node naming This doesn't make sense. List filler. Hard to test without multiple versions of the same hardware, which is...

Recaps are good. Especially when people don't know all the details and/or the details have been obfuscated. Not everyone follows everything, so having a singular place to find the info is usually a good thing. In academia the similar concept of a 'literature review' exists, and literature...

Discussion Intel current and future Lakes & Rapids thread

Given how much confusion there is about Intel's node names, internally to Intel, externally to Intel, and the financial scene, I wanted to create an article that addresses the exact nomenclature moving forward as well as the why. The fact that every time Intel launches a new product there's...

Goodnight SETI - Final data is in the splitter queue.

Check the project page in case there's zero work to send. Check the program applications page to make sure there's even a GPU application to begin with. Anyone still getting SETI units now is just lucky.

We just hit #17 :) Another milestone for the team, 100k WUs in a month! FWIW it looks like Tom's active user count is dropping. Either people too fed up to get WUs, or the end of the contest, or people tightening the belt given the economic situation.

I'm on 7.14.2 I think, downloaded it the other day for this machine Some threads that say this refer to a single core machine, and to quit any programs. This is a fresh OS install with nothing else installed. There is literally nothing else running and 100% of the CPU is free.

Interested in a Folding@Home Coronavirus Race?

If they had every GPU ping every work server every minute, I'm sure the load on the servers would be even worse. Besides, before all this kicked off, there were only four work unit servers and each project type was only on 1-2 at most.
